Now that we are exploring other wedding venues, I have been sending out for info and have had some amazing brouchures in the post.

We just cant find one that has it all, and the few that have made the list have been dropped from the list as we feel ripped off :-( for around 60-70 guests the average venue that we have been looking at have been coming in between 9k-14k. "BUT" if you are willing to have a last minute date you can have it all for just under 4k-6k

We just know what to do...........................?

What's the bulk of the hiring charge? With us, it was the catering supplied by the venue, so we hired it as venue only and got our own caterers.
Although some venues won't allow that, so keep an eye out.

They have all been different. TBH we want an all inclusive with over night accommodation.

Its not that we mind paying if need be, but its the fact that they can offer it for such a low price last minute, feels like being ripped off! :-(

that seems quite expensive, although i think our venue is really reasonably priced comapared to all the others we looked at. I know that ours does a package for 70 guests in the day and 100 in the evening for 8k, that includes pretty much everything you would want. I dont know how some venues get away with charging what they do, its daylight robbery! hope you find something soon xx

    Hey Sara,

Ours is bumped up as we want accommodation for the bulk of our guests too. We were originally going for a local church and reception, but have changed the date and started looking at other options.

I like the price of a last minute date, but dont know it I could deal with the stress, and if we paid full price then saw that dates close to ours were put on deal, I doubt I could cope with the feeling of being robbed :-(

i dont think i could cope with last minute, what if you cant get the date you want? i'd be frantic, but then maybe thats just me!!!
wow, are you paying for accommodation for all your guests? our venue is big enough for all our guests to stay if they want to, but most of them wont because the rooms are quite expensive, even with the discount for being a wedding guest :o(

Thing is I dont mind getting everything ready, then just go go go! Most last minute dates come up or are advertised within about 12 weeks.

Well not all guests, but around 40, close family and probbaly pay up to half price for others, thing is we are looking at venues with at least an hour drive to get too.

aww I'm so jealous, i wish i could afford to pay for all our guests to stay, it would be a really nice way of thanking them for coming. Unfortunately i just cant :o( oh well, i suppose the ones who want to stay will and the others will just go home

Trust me dont be jealous, its more to keep the peace with the family :-0 we are also lucky that my dad is paying a third and it means that we will have to juggle some finances aroun to make it work!

that does seem expensive. Try a grand manor house instead of a hotel, We saved a fortune and now have a huge manor house for 50 day guests and 80 eve for around 6000.

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo
