I am very excited as my little brother has just emailed me the printing quotes for our stationery he's designed. For 50 day invites, 50 evening, 100 gift list cards, 100 RSVP cards, 80 place cards, 80 favour tags, 80 favour explanations, 10 table numbers, 10 menus, one table plan, 100 thank you cards, post box card, guest book cover, welcome sign, sweet buffet sign, 10 quizzes for the table...... it's going to cost £160 to print! - I might be wrong but that's pretty good right!?
We designed them together, he's the designer so he knew the styling, I just knew the colour and basic look I wanted. Had a bit of a 'mare with the stds, that were printed on the wrong card (super expensive) and the wrong colour (what he thought on screen matched, didn't in print) i'm chuffed! We have done some samples so i've chosen the best colour match and good weight card. I don't have any pics of them but they'll be printed next month :-)
I had budgeted for £300 printing. About time I got a bargain, I seem to be spending a fortune on a lot of stuff!
I need to get him a decent present now (he's also an usher) any ideas for an arty 25 yr old let me know! x

I'v not really looked in to costs of stationary as I'm going to making my own, but I would think that sounds very very good for all what you are having. Brill!!!! :) xxxx

Ah I am pleased. He's not the easiest person to work with, he's so laid back and i'm so neurotic! But it all looks really good and original and made just for me!
I just kept adding things on to the list as its being printed as one big job. I had no idea what it would cost so had guessed about £300 just in case, especially after the std nightmare!?
I'm not crafty enough to make my own :-( but I know what I like! x
Ooh that is a fab price indeed!! I think for 140 invitations, 17 menus and table cards ours would have come in around £100 but I don't know for sure as my brother gifted them to us - just got the order of service to organise now then I'll get my photo thank you cards printed online somewhere :-)

I thought about 'pantone' cufflinks in the pantone colour of the invites. But he will never wear a pair of cufflinks again....! He doesn't own a pair of trousers, just jeans! These arty types!
I did hint at the start it could be our gift from him, but i've since agreed to pay him as he can't afford to fund that much at the moment. He has thought about selling his designs on, but think he's changed his mind as i've been a bit of a nightmare customer for him! I've put him off brides! x

haha wicked - you could get him something that's more fun as a prezzy, my older brother I got him a Star Wars limited edition story of art book a few years ago and his face practically lit up, my younger brother just turned 31 and he got a magic set for kids but he thinks it's brilliant, he's threatening to open our speeches with some magic to break the ice!
Or you could go sentimental and get a nice photo of you both as kids and frame it etc?

Both good ideas, I like! Will see if h2b has any ideas, he loves bro so might have some suggestions too.
