Hey, ive been chopping and changing ideas for what seems like eternity, my save the dated had a two heart image on them and I wanted to use similar design on my invites...

I'm thinking off backing it onto purple card now... and maybe decorating it with ribbon... any ideas how I could do this or what would look nice?

Insert looks lovely though, hearts may be a little dark behind the writing though??

just thought the same thing Kaya, they look a bit dark you could place the invite in a card and put the hearts on the front and use a ribbon to hold it closed?

there not too dark in person and you can read all the writing clearly :)
think the photo makes them look darker :)

get a gate fold card in white, get a think purple ribbon.
you slit the folded bits in the centre of the card (the slits the same length as the width of the ribbon) glue the ribbon on the inside of the card and glue the insert over the top, push ribbon through the slits (so the ribbon is now on the front of the card, and tie shut??

If you just want to keep them flat like that on some backing card with ribbon on and into envelopes then you can do that by using a hole punch to punch two holes in the top of the invite before you stick it onto the backing card. You then thread both ends through the holes. Cross the ribbon over each other and back out through the front again and trim. This leaves a very flat but neat looking bow/knot. You then stick it onto the backing card to hide the back where the ribbon has crossed over.

This is the kinda thing i'm thinking of going for... its backed onto white card and then purple... then the ribbon detail :)
I want to get better quality purple card(hammered) for the actual ones so this just a draft version,
Do you think it will look ok when done? and not too home made ? :s

ooh that looks effective If you are going to use the ribbon I would personally condense your writing and have the ribbon on the front at the top as either a stripe or simple bow. Shame to have such lovely ribbon on the back where it wont be seen!

this is the fun bit! ha ha If you move your writing down and put the info on the bottom onto a seperate card then you will have enough room for the ribbon. Plus if people stand them up or pin them to a notice board eg they wont see the back.

Soo i went to the craft shop today and found some nice card :) in the perfect colour...
But with the shape of it my invitations would need to be square.. so after a wee mess around on the computer this is what i came up with...
