As the title suggests my H2B is a difficult person to buy for. If he wants something then he will just buy it. He doesn't wear jewellery and has a watch I bought him a few years ago for his 21st so already has that for sentiment (although he can't wear it for work so it's rarely on). So getting him a present has been difficult.
I decided that as he works a lot of hours and is always busy that I was going to book us a few nights away in September next year (we get married in May) as his gift. This means he will have to take some time to relax and it will give us something to look forward to after the build up at the beginning of the year.
One of my clients owns some hotels in Scotland so I spoke to her and she recommended one near the borders but only about 30 mins from Edinburgh as well. Also told me that in January they are having a sale so all bookings are 50% off for bookings in 2012. Just spoke to the reservations manager and booked the suite so we can have a bit of luxury as well. Can't wait! Gonna have such a good time and I know he's going to love it xx

    Great!

I agree if 'they' don't collect anything particular they are really hard to buy for.

    Oh this sounds lovely!
Us women, we wreck our brains trying to find pressies for these impossible men and the sad truth is (certainley in my case) a geeky/scientific gadget or doodaa or game of sorts is what is most appreciated lol

Mine's current addiction is comic book characters (DC in Particular) so at least there's been a bit of a theme to shop around! He claims I'm hard to buy for - but literally all I have to do is walk into Accessorize or go onto what Katy Did and I'm mentally spending hundreds!!!

Thank You ladies. I have honestly spent the past three months trying to think of ideas that are special. He will probably go shopping two days before and find me something great (typical woman loves shoes, handbags, jewellery etc). I start my Christmas shopping every year in July/August time and have to tell him to run every purchase he makes past me as he has on more than one occasion bought the same gift. While we have been saving for the wedding we have put going to see comedians as much on hold (that is our hobby) so as a gift for his birthday in 2010 I bought him lee mack tickets. I put a lot of thought into the dates and seeing a comedian we hadn't seen before. After buying them Rhod Gilbert announced his tour at a different theatre-the same night. That's ok because we'd agreed not to buy tickets while saving. Until he picks me up from work and says I've bought us Rhod Gilbert tickets as a treat. Could have killed him ha ha. Now you see what I've been up against! xx

All men must be the same, however if I buy anything to do with walking/expedition equipment I'm normally heading the right way! But not exactly sentimental is it! He asked me for £20 boxer shorts by Paramo for christmas, I just laughed at him! Your gift to him sounds lovely though and I'm sure he will be thrilled with it x x

I just wrapped h2bs presents and actually it's not too bad, nice variety. He got himself fancy boots which are officially from me so that's the big gift and I got him a framed original Brylcreem ad from 1949 (h2b IS Mr. Brylcreem), a pac man mug, a monkey onesie and as a fun gift a calendar I took part in. And 'from our son' he'll get a funnily decorated hamper with some Spanish delicatessen (shop around the corner hence the Spanish choice).

    Weekend I did last year!

That sounds lovely, some quality time to relax and enjoy being Mr and Mrs.x

A friend of mine works at the football club my oh supports so he is going to get all the players to sign a shirt for me so I can get it framed for him. I had started to collect the autographs of the players to make a collage, might still do that too, might be overload. Not sure if I should get the shirt for the year we met, 1999 or now though. Guess it would be a bit strange if the players from 2011 signed a 1999 shirt but just wanted it to have another meaning that related to us as a couple. What do you think 1999 or 2011?

maybe get the players to sign 2011 but have a look for a programme from a game in 1999 so then he has a keepsake from the year you met and the year you got married? out of curiosity who does your h2b support? x
