    I have just come back from my final fitting....
    the dress is PERFECT.............. but
    the veil i KNOW i bought n paid for was not the one that I tried on....the reason i KNOW its not the one i bought was because i was mucking about with the young sales staff, protending to put the veil over my face, as if i was walking down the ailse.

    i brought n paid for an double veil with crystals and diamonties on it....
    this one is a single veil with crystals and diamonties on it... i tried to tell her that this was not my veil
    but she told me it was and that i was getting nervous.

    im fuming.... i have less than 15 days to go and i have a single veil instead of a double.

    i have no more money in the budget to go buy a new one.
    i feel like crying!!

    No.. she just wrote down the dress name and veil.... with the total cost!

    im gutted.. i cant think what im gonna do!!

    Were you going to wear the veil over your face?

    You really need to put your foot down with them and tell them they have got it wrong and you need to have the one you paid for.

    Surely a single one is cheaper than a double so you can go by how much you paid?

    Don't get upset though Trish, I know it's hard but you don't need extra stress

    Take it back and say look you may say it is my veil but its NOT!
    Can i swap it for the one that I DO want??

    If they say no say you want a refund for the one you have and youll go elsewhere!
    Its a veil so this shouldnt be a problem................then if thats the case ukbride girls will be on a massive hunt to find you a veil!

    stand your ground and say you definately want a two piece veil and thats that, if they dont have it then get your money back and have a look on ebay

    Mellymoo... no i wasnt going to wear it over my face, but i chose a double veil and thats what i should have.

    i paid £95 for my veil in the sale....
    i have emailed her saying im not happy and i want the one i tried on in the very beginning... she said that IS the one i tried on....

    trust me ladies its not..... how can i muck about trying it over my face if it was just a single one...
    im so crosss i have said im going to collect my dress tomorrow and vring it home then i wont have nothing else to do with her.....

    Aghhhh im so cross im shaking!! x

    tell her u want a refund and certainly wont be recommending her,she see s loads of brides so its more likely her to get mixed up,ur hardly going to forget what veil u chose.she sounds so unprofesional.if all else fails use the best line 'the customer is ALWAYS right' my mum is a shop manager and she said by law she has to give you a refund even if she doesnt agree with you.x

    Trish mine was from the bay and its lovely take yours back and get a refund and get one from the bay because thats a rediculous amount of money to pay for a veil.

    I would be very angry, Sounds like to me that there trying to rip you off! Did anyone go with you when you tryed the veil on? If so take that person with you when you pic your dress up. Demand a refund and dont leave the shop without one!x

    I am having a war with her on email at the mo.

    She said i cant have a refund as it was in the sale...
    i am so cross i have said ok.... forget the flipping refund, get my dress sorted and ill be up to pick it up in the morning with "THAT" veil.
    she has told me she cant do that as it hasnt bee steamed yet. so i said dont bother, ill get it steamed somewhere else, she has said that she is not prepared to let it go without having it stramed first... she said it could be ready on thurs next week if i still wanted to pick it up early!
    AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, god i cant stop the tears!!

    if your dress is paid for then she has no right to stop you from taking the dress wheter or not it has been steamed .....if she refuses to give you the dress call the police

    My dress was paid in full last Oct...
    i did say that she has no right to hold my dress.... but she said its worth more than her reputation to let it go not steamed...

    i said to her if she dont sort my veil out then her reputation aint gonna be much by the time i have finished with her!!

    H2B has just called.. i sobbed on the fone to him and he has calmed me down, he is giving me money to go out and get another one on mon when im off work..

    The thing is if the veil was in the sale how come they didn't give it you there and then when it was in the sale? Just make a quick call to trading standards and see what they say about it. You might get some tips from them on how to deal with her.

    I was gonna say - mine is a 2t veil with crystals on and it was a tenner on the bay!

    you should definitely get your money back from the shop! £95 is rather steep for a 1t veil! bless ya hun! good luck getting your money back! xxx

    Thats awful! I know when I went for my last fitting I looked at my dress and thought "NOOOOOO! Thats not mine!" But as soon as it was on I knew it was, it looked so different on the hanger but my heart was pounding so I can't imagine how you feel!

    putting the veil over your face is 100% proof that its the wrong one! Was she even in the shop when you tried it on? If she wasn't then how does she know. I think you should go to trading standards and ask their opinion on the whole matter.

    But hun, one thing I totally don't agree you should do is take the dress unpressed. Its more stress on you to find another person to to it for you, shes already got the money to do it (in your alteration and dress costs) and why should you have to sort it out?! Its her damn fault for hiring trainees on site and not having an experienced member of staff to oversea what they were doing.

    Were you told at the point of sale that you couldn't return sale items? If not they don't have a leg to stand on. I know first hand as I work for a mobile phone shop and as a trainee forgot to tell a customer there was no return on the handset. They came back, kicked up a stink and I got into trouble for having to return the item. You HAVE TO give the customer full terms and conditions at the point of sale unless its stated on your receipt/written in a contract. Law also states that if anything has to be ordered and it is not right/fit for purpose/faulty a full refund should be issued. Also as you have a receipt, you have proof of purchase and they have to give you a full refund OR credit note to that value - which is money off your other veil.

    I'd let her know that she has 2 days to respond to refund you otherwise you will get trading standards involved and also name and shame her on a VERY large bridal forum.

    im glad you have managed to get another veil but i wouldnt let the shop get away wiht it!

    just say to them that you know it isnt the veil as you are wearing it over your face even though your not so it has to be the wrong one!

    she seems like a nightmare! at least your dress is perfect xx
