my FIL2B upset me with a few comments made about the wedding making me feel stupid. like my dad has sorted a honeymoon venue so all we would have to pay for is flights and a little spending money when i told my FIL2B he got grumpy and said oh you must be minted then when he knows we arent we wasnt even thinking of a honeymoon its just if we have the spare money it would be a bargain honeymoon in a chateau! now i feel guilty as they have offered to help with food. i dont want them to feel like we are accepting their help when we dont need it if you know what i mean x

h2b knows the whole situation but it doesnt bother him he says he doesnt care what anyone else thinks and i should be less sensitive! lol maybe hes right its our day and we will do all we can afford and anyone who wants to help can we are not asking for help atall but really appreciate any given. it could possibly be jealousy i dont really know xx

very true hun it is ur day and if people want to offer to help then i would accept ur h2b has got same attitude as me like i told h2b its our day and if they cant be happy then theres no point in them being there and all i care about is that me and him tie the knot ive had my own mother twisting every time the wedding is mentioned but because of the weekends events shes not invited anymore and my mate is twisting shes not a bridesmaid but tough sometimes we just gotta let if fly over our heads hun and just enjoy planning our special days xxx

yea ur both right :) im going to ignore it. my dad and i have our issues but him and my mum are paying for my dress, church and marquee, honeymoon and there still talking about doing more i feel like im taken advantage but if i say no they will get the hump lol so ive told FIL2B and MIL2B what my parents are doing so perhaps it has touched a nerve xx

Yeah it sounds like it has hun, my mum is paying for our photographer (which i hate to accept, but i have to)
My inlaws are so skint but have offered to lend us £500 which has kinda saved the day, which we will pay back hopefully within a few months once credit card is payed off. My dad isnt contributing what so ever, which does upset me but hes tight as a ducks aSS!!

I definatly think its jealousy hun, i know some of my friends parents and inlaws try competing against each other, its pathetic .. your FIL2B sounds like a proud man who wishes he could do more xxx

Hmmm strange one then hun!! I do think the brides parents do feel as they want to contribute though dont they, my mum would go mad if i didnt accept lol i was recently worrying about getting my dress altered and se offered to pay but i cant accept anymore while shesso skint bless her xxx

aww thats so sweet. yea i think its because traditionally it was suppose to be the brides father who pays but nowadays it tends to be both parents who help which is lovely. my daughters 2 and i know for a fact im going to do all that i can when it comes to her big day :) xxx

I kinda like the fact we have paid for most of it ourselfs, but my mum & my FIL2B have been absoloute life savers.. would of canceled it a long time ago if it werent for them!! & i dont even mind paying my FIL2B back, seeing as their so skint themselfs with my MIL2B loosing her job etc etc.
