you need to make a wish list of what you would like. Then see if you can price that up and look at how it will tie into your day. Your budget will have an impact on the things you can have. Think about the age range of your guests, so your 70 year old Aunt isn't sitting in a room full of banging music with no escape etc ..... plus if you have kids going, what will you have for them? Lots to think about hun ....... I'd do some google work and see if you can get some inspiration.

No but I like this theme. Just to clarify - are you thinking of a music festival theme or like a colourful carnival festival theme? Doesn't have to be either or ofc I am judt trying to understand your vision first :-£
On both themes the net is full with ideas. Very popular these days. No surprise because it's great!

im thinking music festival i have seen some amazing ideas and a regular isle of wight festival go-er the only problem is the costs of marquees and i cant see a way around that or can you pull it off inside? hmm lots to think about xx
Inside is not quite the feel is it? Could you celebrate in a pub with an outdoor bit?
You could have backstage passes for all the guests, have everyone wear wellies, call tge whole thing your Lovefest, relaxed food like a bbq or hogroast and ofc obviously the music is important. Tables could be named after bands or festivals... So many possibilities!

Hay bales, gazebos, live music, street style food, Welles, sunglasses, flags, overnight camping for guests, ticket style invites, plastic/paper cups, cider, bouncy castle, games, fire pits, sky lanterns, fire dancers. All these things remind me of festivals and I think would be great to incorporate into a festival wedding.
