I have set up my own business working for a company, selling candles. Basically I go to people's houses and do candle parties. The money is great and all the money I earn goes straight into my wedding savings account.

Well everything got off to a flying start and I was on track to hitting all my targets for my starter programme.

Well I had 4 parties booked for december and 3 have canceled. Im totally gutted. I have asked all my friends to do parties for me (can I add it doesnt cost a penny to have a party, and you benefit from free products) but I cant get anyone to have a party for me.

Any ideas how I can get my bookings up. Im running out of ideas and I so want to be sucessful in this :-(

Sign up to websites like netmums and go on gumtree and advertise on there. Also on the mums of the net website i just mentioned you find out details about local fairs and craft fairs etc where you can set up a stall to earn a few quid xXx

Yeah I have done that clarabelle but people just dont seem interested. I mean whats not to like, having all your girly mates round for wine and nibbles, and at the end of it you get free stuff!

Stacey, went on gum tree and mums net but you have to pay if your advertising a business, but thanks anyway.

Put up a post on facebook to try and get party bookings as one of my friends did this for virgin vie and got a few parties booked this way. Also worth finding out of any christmas fairs happening near you (school ones are good) and getting a table booked at them to sell some of the candles and also to get bookings.

Just had another thought, maybe worth seeing if you could have a stall at any local wedding fairs to get bookings as quite a few brides to be buy candles for their centrepieces, etc. Or if you arent able to get a stall then ask if leaflets could be handed out at the door. xx

What about sending a mail drop out. Do a letter or flyer advertising your parties and then get in dropped by the royal mail. Not sure how much that would cost but may be a good revenue builder.
