I've been feeling the same the past couple of days Shelley. We need to start saving asap but H2B was made redundant in October so we moved back to my mums to save us money, but that meant me leaving my job as the travel would of been too much to get to work for 7am most mornings! So now, we're both out of work & both looking :( I do have faith though so you should too, things always work out in the end. xx

You're definitely not alone - I currently am saving for a place for us both to live, a wedding and 2 blessings, and visas. Different situation, same problem. Here's hoping for a massive lottery win for us all to share eh! Never give up hope x

We're in the same situation, the amount we need to save per month is a LOT, but we thought it would be manageable...only then a million other things get in the way and there's nothing you can do about it! I was supposed to start wedding savings in August, only started in December. All I can suggest is to try get as much family/friend help as possible and do things yourself? I know you've probably heard all that before though, so I hope things look up a bit. In the middle of us being really really stretched I got a letter from revenue saying I'd overpaid tax so I got some money back - fingers crossed you'll get a little bit of luck like that and things will look rosier :)

DIY is definatly saving me pennies but I think January is the worst month of the year for having no money and things going wrong

Yeah we have only just started saving too... £600 and counting lol...not exactly gonna get us much!! We are also getting a second mortgage this year and save for the wedding (looks like around the same time as yours). So actually saving for the wedding might only happen after the house deposit is paid.....uh oh!
Hopefully your family will be able to help contribute?? Maybe have that conversation (if you havent already) you would be suprised at how generous people can be when it comes to weddings!!

    good luck xx

we're all in this together it would seem! both of our jobs are on the line at the moment and with my anxiety and depression the post christmas blues has hit me really hard, very difficult to keep positive but im trying! diy is definitely a good way to save money, also we have one of those big tins that you have to open with a can opener to get in so we put notes in there when we're feeling brave - it soon adds up! we deliberately didn't set a date because we've know idea when we'll have the money together so we don't want to put the pressure on. marriage is for life after all, keep having to tell myself that its not important how soon we tie the knot, just that we have each other. best of luck x
