Just got an email saying that I hadn't got the job at a certain company which I had a recent interview with and no I feel like giving up all hope and I was pinning everything on them saying yes as it would have been 30 hrs a week and now they turn around and say I did not meet the requirements or something - a) training is given b) why interview me if I didn't meet them?

The place where I have got my heart set on wants a £700 deposit to secure the date as they only hold provisional dates for 3 days...

Want to move out into our own place and most decent places which aren't shared accommodation are £400+ a month without bills.

Feel like I have no money to save or help with :(

Awww hun, firstly take a deep breath. I know it is disheartening when you've got your hopes on a job and don't get it, but don't give up hope, something will come along you just have to keep looking and be positive. I've recently been in the same position as you, we have £6,000 still to save for our wedding and before last week, I was unemployed and starting to give up hope, but just recently got a full time job and will be starting soon, I just kept in mind that something would be just round the corner and everything happens for a reason.
Could you possibly get in touch with the place where you had the interview and ask them for feedback, in what way you didn't meet the requirements and maybe they'll give you more information? xxx

    Don't give up hun.

I'm finding it difficult, my LG is 16 weeks, so not entitled to any help with her childcare yet, which is blinking expensive, and i can't do anything. I try and distract myself with DIY stuff, but it's hard i've gone from 60 hours a week at Haven, to nothing, and financially wise it is horrible! I love my little girl to bits, but i feel like i can't provide.

My bloke recently lost work, so he's constantly looking as well. And it's stupid, if he works more than 24 hours, we loose out on Housing Benefit (£94 a week) and other bits and pieces, which means we'd be worse off unless he works over 50 hours. Which no-one is giving atm. Feel like we're going to be trapped on Benefits forever. It's hard to keep looking forward, i have always worked, my parents brought me up with a strong works ethics, and to go to this, is plain embarrassing. And people judge you and look at you like you're scum.

We scrimp and save here and there, and put bits away, and it can be done.

Just think better times ahead! Chin up chuck *huggles*

Aww Lauren, bless you, don't take any notice of the people who judge. I hate more than anything when people judge all people on benefits as though they're all scum, it's so wrong! You're trying your hardest, the benefits system is definitely flawed that you're not entitled to help with childcare, that's ridiculous, how they expect anyone to be able to manage with no help is ridiculous! You're trying your hardest hun, both of you and you can be proud of that. You know your circumstances and you're doing the best you can do with what you have hun xxx

    Thanks MrsMoran2b.

It is flawed, we have said it so many times. Instead of just cutting you off, there should be a gradual reducement in how much, so you can get yourself back on your feet and wait for the economy to get better. It's painful to think, some people get more on benefits than working. But i certainly don't know how people manage to get stupid amounts a month! We get by, and we have each other that's all that matters. And this Govt isn't helping. Wanting to stop Winter Fuel Allowance for all elderly i ridiculous, they'd be practically murdering hundreds. Bedroom Tax is a joke. Don't see David Cameron paying it, And yet they still get a £10,000 bonus at the end of the year, i mean WTF?!! People are struggling majorly and this d*ck waltz's on in with a fat wallet.

Don't start me on politics. Be here all day.

So many are in positions where it's tough, just gotta power through. As the craze says: Keep Calm & Drink Tea (Y)

No, no maternity pay Angel, Haven is a seasonal job, so you're never working long enough to be entitled to it. The hours you work, and money you save from those hours get you through Winter ready for the next season. But never went back this year, due to baby, and they over staffed hence why the bloke got let go.

I'm always on bay of e, do car boots and local bookface selling pages are brilliant! Save loads and got rid of loads! xx
