So ive booked my venue with the whole day happening there, and had booked the registra to come. And now i kinda feel at a bit of a loose end as realistically there aint much that needs doin till next year. But i feel like i need to be doing something in between.
Have paid a visit to the venue today to see the whole place laid out for a wedding (same number as us and the wedding service taking place there, just a differnt colour scheme).
But now i guess ive come to a stop!!
Help what can i do with myself now????

Can you start looking at dresses or designing invitations?

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

I have kinda looked at some dresses on line and have located one in a local shop that i really like and would love to go and try on. i always feel that when you go to these shops and they ask "when you getting married"? i think telling them the year after next seems so far away! And expect them not to take you seriously!
Had bit of a play around yesterday at some sample place cards, im into making hand made cards so thought id get a little creative, but obviously i havnt got a colour scheme yet.
Im a bit OCD when it comes to things like this and have already got tons of paper work and list on the go, think the H2B will be happy to sit back and turn up on the day knowing i have it all under control lol

we had even longer but to be honest we went full steam ahead. We now have all major things provisionally booked so that we got the suppliers we knew we wanted as its amazing how fast they book up. Funilly enough despite this, I still have a 2 page to do list so you wont run out of things to do hun. I would start looking at dresses now and entertainment. Entertainment is important so check this off the list.

in terms of the dress shopping comment, I was a bit like that but they dont mind as long as you are serious about buying as obviously the styles change so unless you are serious about putting a dress on order within the next 4 months or so, then they will be a little miffed.

Because were getting married in a hotel quite a lot comes in with the pakeage we have booked. Dj, table decorations, chair covers, flowers so thats some of the list covered. And also because im staying at the hotel the nite before with my BM'S i dont need a car to get there. (not sure what the H2B is gonna do, he wants to sort that himself so im happy to leave that to him.
The dress shop i want to go to visit seem really helpful, they were really nice on the phone when i rang to see if they had the dress id seen in stock and were quite welcoming for me to go down, so may just take them up on the offer when i can ditch the kids after school starts again!

ok then why not plan what you can do the night before at the hotel e.g. we are having a spa day the night before because we are staying in the hotel too (well me, mob and bms).

i would go and visit when kids are back as it is hectic at the moment with brides getting ready for weddings now and kids being everywhere so a good idea to wait until kids are off.

Is it usual to send these STD invites out? Know were getting married on a friday so it may be woth us doin this as most people are gonna have to take a day off work (i dont work fridays) so its a bonus for me lol

My bridesmaid Partner is a keen photographer and has agreed to take casual photos at nite, but dont want him to do them in the day as i want him to be able to enjoy himeself (plus they have 2 kids so he will need to keep his eye on them as my BM will be a little tired up with me)

I dont really want loads of formal pics i like the more natural laid back ones, but there is a lovely park at the side of the hotel with a fancy bridge that would look awesome on the pics......

yeah never thought bout that a nice pampering session would be nice.
A friend who will be coming to the wedding has offered to do my make up on the day, but she may be able to come the nite before and door our nails and things, we could have a proper girly nite in with a bit of bubbly :-)
know the owner of the hotel has said he will send us some fizz up in the morning while were all getting ready.

yeah def worth waiting till the kids are outa they way, might drag my maid of honour with me for a day out :-)

don't send them out this far in advance. Your guests will only lose the damn things, which will cost you money in the long run. You have just under 2 years, so wait until about 3-4 months beforehand.

If you're in any doubt, there's a really good wedding planner on this site, so take a browse through that and it'll give thou some ideas.

YOu also want to sort wedding insurance out if oy haven't already done so. Bear in mind though that if you have booked your venue beforehand , you will not be covered. Again, theres a whole forum dedicated to this on here;o)
