Hi, This may seem like a really silly request for advice. We have booked the photographer to stay throughout the day and past the first dance. Do you pay for them to eat whilst they are attending your day? Do you provide the wedding breakfast or some sort of pack up? I would not mind them helping themselves to the buffet in the evening but not sure what happens in the day? What is everybody else doing? Thanks in advance.

We are feeding ours. I think it's a long day and it's just what we wanted to do. But i would assume the photographers would bring some sort of pack lunch if they haven't been invited to the meal anyway. It's completely down to you :) x

We're not. I know some people do but you don't expect your employer to buy your lunch when you go into work so don't see this as any different personally

Check your contract with the photographer.

Ours made it clear he did not need to be fed, however, we had a competitive of late drop outs so offered him the full 3 courses which he gratefully accepted (I'm sure it's a common thing). He was also told to help himself to the buffet in the evening although he didn't hang around for that as it was served just after his day with us ended shortly after the first dance. We did offer the buffet to our DJ too.

My sister had the same thing at her wedding, meal did not have to be included but ended up offering it when she had last minute drop outs.

It will say in your contract, some specify that a meal is provided some bring there own, but if they do need foor you venue should be able to organise a vendors meal

We're getting a vendor meal from the venue for our photographer. Its such a long day and she'll be working so hard I'd feel bad not to provide food for her. Up to each individual though, worth checking your contract to see if its required x

Our photographer is a guest, but if I was hiring someone, I would not feed them. If they stipulated they had to be fed, I wouldn't hire them. My employer doesn't feed me

Check your contract on their website FAQs? Should find whether they expect a meal or not on either of those x

Were feeding ours, he is a friend but not very close and wouldn't have normally been invited to the wedding if not our photographer, but he will be there all day so felt it was right too.

After checking my contract and the websites FAQs my photographer site doesn't cover this. I am sure it was mentioned during our meeting but can't remember as was mostly engrossed in how good their work is. I am happy for them to be fed by us on the day as our catering is very reasonably priced so won't break the bank.

We are feeding ours because our venue is out of the way so otherwise he would have to have a cold packed lunch...i would prefer to have a happy full photographer personally for the cost of an extra main (not the full 3 course meal). its a long day and if they don't have the chance to go off and get a hot meal i would feel bad for them! xx

Sometimes it's in the contract so check that or ask ? We asked ours and he said he just brings pack up in the day but as we've got him from 8am til about 9pm, so we said to definitely help himself from the hot hog roast on evening ... Not right to go all day without something hot x

We're going to feed ours. I saw a piece in a magazine about making sure the photographer is fed too.

Just thought of a great idea for during the meal, I think I might ask my photographers (in advance I myself do photography as a hobby) if I can pinch one of their camera's for just one moment and take a picture of them at the meal. They're a very laid pack couple as well so I think they would let me... maybe.
