Wedding Forum - Favours Poll...

I liked the Wedding dress multi question poll at the top of the page so thought I would do one. Wondering how much and what people had chosen for their favours. Hopefully this poll may be a bit of fun and may also help new brides that are new to the minefield of whats the norm for favours. xx

we are also having a candy buffet with the paper bags you get at the pick 'n' mix but I am also thinking of putting some sort of lollipop sticks with jokes or trivia questions on each persons seat so there's something for people to do whilst sat round the table. I saw some recently online but they were wither solf out or had a christmas design. I am now thinking I might make my own anyway :) then I can have them match my theme

am havin a sweet buffet too, but i dont class that as my favour to my guests, i have paid £1.50 for world cancer charity pins, wrapped them in tissue paper and put them in little organza bags x

I was going to have cupcakes for all but worked out too much so we changed to cake pops.
We are not having an evening buffet just bacon rolls and mini chip comes so we decided to have a sweet buffet as part of the dessert. I have found a lovely lady that does a mix of sweets and desserts which will include cake pops so not having them as favours now lol.

Instead the children will have gift bags for throughout the day including a camera for a photo hunt (see my thread) and a mini bucket with sweets in.

The ladies will have little co mpact silver heart mirrors which will be in black square boxes with ribbon and roses on

and the men will have silver mini hip flask key rings which will be in black pillow boxes decorated the same way.




oh and we are also have wooden roses that will have the guests name attached on each napkin, so i guess they can keep these as well so thats another little favour hehehe

I think it's good to see that quite a few wouldn't expect a favour. Its nice to know as a bride that if your budget doesn't stretch to favours, its not an essential. xx

I'd voted before I noticed 'wouldnt expect a favour', so I'd change that vote, I dont think I've ever missed a favour, just been impressed with peoples ideas for them

We're having favour buckets with 2 bars of chocolate and a lottery ticket in ours, so it'll be a little over £2 a head I think :-)

not decided on the final favours yet but will be deciding sooner or later...

I recently decided against making my own sweetie boxes as favours as think I will have enough to do the week before the wedding. So i am getting Dream Rings from the local Harry Gow's bakery! haha
and the girls are getting a mini Prada perfume and the blokes a mini Juicy couture aftershave too.

we are having little momento cards on the table and personalised love hearts in the evening we are giving out the usual almonds in bags lol xxx

I have a local shop that sell 3 bath mallows or cakes (the ones that look like decorated buns or sweets), in lovely bespoke boxes for £5, so I'm giving the men men's ones and the women the usual pretty ones.

we're having miniature pots of homemade jam and cancer research pin badges

We got our favor boxes free with our room decor company . They are the little tuxedo boxes for men and brides dress for the ladies. we are just buying mini packs of love hearts to put in them. x we are struggling enough with our budget to feed everyone so cheap and cheerful all the way for us when it comes to favors lol. Bridal party will get proper presents :) x

were making "friendship boxes" for everyone at night except the men they are getting torch keyrings.
for the day guests they are also getting wee bags with chocolate, mints and a piece of tablet which will be handed out during the meal by the staff so the kids (esp my cousins lot) dont pinch them off the tables and eat the lot!!!!

Some really great ideas on here. There are so many favour options depending on how much you want to spend and your theme, it's also great fun to get a few of you together to make your own.

We're having christmas crackers with a little clay penguin in it (partner insisted we had to get penguins in the wedding somehow lol); I'll be decorating the crackers to match the invites and am making name tags to stick on them so they can double up as place names :) I did also think about making small ribbon roses in our colour scheme for each of the guests, but I'm not sure if I'll go ahead with it yet.

I'm getting lottery tickets for all our day guests that will be popped inside a personalised envelope. I'm a graphic designer by trade so am sure I can knock up something nice! Lol x

I have chosen copper plated bottle opener and wine stopper with a leaf design for my favours. They cost between £2-£3 and come in a lovely presentation box with a golden bow and a tag that says thank you. If you want to have a look there somewhere in my album.

we're having sweets but also giving everyone a fridge magnet with a little thank you message on it. wrapping them together in organza with a ribbon and name tag so that they double up as place names :) xx

We're having handmade personalised favour boxes with a pack of personalised love hearts in them xx

were having a buffet table and have got tradional personalised sweet bags for our guests! x

We are having little ivory colour candles in purple organza bags tied with tartan for the ladies and homemade tablet in boxes with little tartan bows for the men and sweet bags for the children.

My favours will double up as place cards as it is simply a shortbread biscuit with a name piped on in white icing with a teal ribbon tied through a hole in one end. simple and homemade :P
