I liked the Wedding dress multi question poll at the top of the page so thought I would do one. Wondering how much and what people had chosen for their favours. Hopefully this poll may be a bit of fun and may also help new brides that are new to the minefield of whats the norm for favours. xx

we are also having a candy buffet with the paper bags you get at the pick 'n' mix but I am also thinking of putting some sort of lollipop sticks with jokes or trivia questions on each persons seat so there's something for people to do whilst sat round the table. I saw some recently online but they were wither solf out or had a christmas design. I am now thinking I might make my own anyway :) then I can have them match my theme

I was going to have cupcakes for all but worked out too much so we changed to cake pops. We are not having an evening buffet just bacon rolls and mini chip comes so we decided to have a sweet buffet as part of the dessert. I have found a lovely lady that does a mix of sweets and desserts which will include cake pops so not having them as favours now lol.
Instead the children will have gift bags for throughout the day including a camera for a photo hunt (see my thread) and a mini bucket with sweets in.

The ladies will have little co mpact silver heart mirrors which will be in black square boxes with ribbon and roses on

and the men will have silver mini hip flask key rings which will be in black pillow boxes decorated the same way.

oh and we are also have wooden roses that will have the guests name attached on each napkin, so i guess they can keep these as well so thats another little favour hehehe

I think it's good to see that quite a few wouldn't expect a favour. Its nice to know as a bride that if your budget doesn't stretch to favours, its not an essential. xx

I am also toying with the idea of recording a video message thanking the guests for joining us on the day etc. Then we will burn the message onto DVD discs and label them with the guests name. this way we have place names and a weding favour which can be kept a lot longer than anything edible :) not sure if we will do this yet but I love the idea.

We are doing personalized fake tattoos! They'll be of a swallow or rose with a banner, with Annette and Carl and our date on it. We'll set up a table with them and some water and sponges so people can put them on there and then. Might get some fun pictures of people showing off their "tattoos" :) xx

we are having little momento cards on the table and personalised love hearts in the evening we are giving out the usual almonds in bags lol xxx
CommentAuthorkimmy
We have changed our minds ..again, firstly we bought mini love hearts with personalised labels on them to place in lilac organza bags, but now we have decided on hand made soap in heart shapes individually wrapped for the ladies and Beer Bands for the boys, these are coloured wrist bands with funny names on ie control freak, the men place them over their glass or can or beer bottle to identify their drinks, they are cheap and funny, we are putting the sweets into a big dish next to the casino tables.:D
CommentAuthorjo Santa
I have a local shop that sell 3 bath mallows or cakes (the ones that look like decorated buns or sweets), in lovely bespoke boxes for £5, so I'm giving the men men's ones and the women the usual pretty ones.

Were having the same evening food as you hails, bacon buttes and chips (much to my mums disgust) and are making our own cake pops wrapped in celo for favours. We've also thinking of bulk buying some scarfs & having them embroidered with initials for the ladies (luckily we know someone who will do the names) Also doing sweet trees for the tables so were thinking of a sweet buffet but in think maybe we might have enough goin on without it!!
MelN I love your coasters, what a good idea x

We got our favor boxes free with our room decor company . They are the little tuxedo boxes for men and brides dress for the ladies. we are just buying mini packs of love hearts to put in them. x we are struggling enough with our budget to feed everyone so cheap and cheerful all the way for us when it comes to favors lol. Bridal party will get proper presents :) x

for our favours, we're getting mini terracotta pots and spray painting them to match colour scheme, then filling them with tissue and home made tablet, wrapping them up with clear cellophane and tying them with a coloured ribbon with each persons name on a wee luggage style tag. Just something different and plus, they can use the pot again! We considered putting seeds in them, like planting a seed and then letting them watch it grow as our own love grew following the wedding, but couldn't decide on a plant seed!

Some really great ideas on here. There are so many favour options depending on how much you want to spend and your theme, it's also great fun to get a few of you together to make your own.

We're having christmas crackers with a little clay penguin in it (partner insisted we had to get penguins in the wedding somehow lol); I'll be decorating the crackers to match the invites and am making name tags to stick on them so they can double up as place names :) I did also think about making small ribbon roses in our colour scheme for each of the guests, but I'm not sure if I'll go ahead with it yet.

Ooo actually I just remembered that I really wanted to give packets of poppy seeds in special envelopes as favours. Wanted to do this as I was really close to my nan who died several years ago but adored my H2B and her birthday was Nov 11th aka Poppy Day. Miss her so much, wish she was still around to see my special day....dammit made myself cry now =( x

I have chosen copper plated bottle opener and wine stopper with a leaf design for my favours. They cost between £2-£3 and come in a lovely presentation box with a golden bow and a tag that says thank you. If you want to have a look there somewhere in my album.

Thanks Stevie_Dee, however I'm still none the wiser - so many things to choose from!!
I don't want favours to cut massively into our budget but H2B's sis provided mini bottles of champagne for everyone at hers...I know it's not a competition but I wanted to do something a bit quirky. We had originally thought of personalised love hearts, then it became personalised m&ms - now we're planning on personalised shot glasses (filled with sweets for the kids, and to be filled with vodka later on for the adults!)
CommentAuthorKaili&James
My favours will double up as place cards as it is simply a shortbread biscuit with a name piped on in white icing with a teal ribbon tied through a hole in one end. simple and homemade :P

we spent little over £2 at the no for some round white candles that smell of roses and are made up of individual roses. They look grog and are wrapped in tulle with a little ribbon and we will add our date and names etc. More for girls I know but never mind... the girls wont complain when they get two. We were doing alcohol minatures until we found out our venue was going to charge £2 corkage for each one even though they dont have to do anything with them grrrr
