I've giving the cupcakes from our cake as favours, in a individual box tied with a ribbon, and in the bottom of the box is a little pink bag, with a poem and a sixpence in. So I put i'd spent over £3 on the favours, but that includes the cake, if you take that away its only about 50p per person, as got the rest of it off bay of e so was a bargain.

And we're having a candy buffet on the night, as an extra favour for the evening guests too. But thats free as my mum is paying for that :) x

Upfront - I don't expect a favour so I'll never be disappointed if there is none. But I would be very happy to receive something homemade and edible or crafted with fun and heart. I chose edible in the poll but the other one I like equally. I rather have no favour than a shop bought one that is there because you have to have a favour. It's such a waste of money... I dislike scented candles but this seems quite popular in the wedding world - no thank you for me. Fil and wife had this at their wedding and the candles got thrown away because they were so strongly scented. His daughters gave me the boxes for crafting but they smelt so much. Yuck. But that's just personal taste I just thought it's such a shame because that was quite some money spent.

I don't think favours are important but our name tag holders may aswell double up as favours and like Annettes (great) tattoo idea it's mainly just for fun and photos - I am making moustaches and lips on sticks (gents and ladies) - I think they will come u for around £0.30 per person. But that depends on how many people will be there in the end. But no money wasted as I use the materials anyway. The kiddos will have mini cupcakes I crocheted as name tag holders and obviously they can keep them - I don't know how much they will cost all in all because I already have all the stuff needed in my stash - but ofc this all had cost money one day. The kiddies will also get a party bag - not sure yet what will go in it but I suppose they will be the most expensive thing all in all.

I am doing charity favours and a few chocs in a box for all guests. Then I am getting poems I have on the bay for the important people like mums etc and getting them framed, as presents.

We thought long and hard about favours and really decided to do them as we felt we wanted to give our guests something to say thank you for travelling.

Our ladies have a homemade bathbomb in an egg shape and then a little soap duck in a little gift bag.
Our men have a hipflask keyring which has Scottish flag or emblem on the front again in a little gift bag.
All the bags have an egg shaped wooden name tag attached which we have personalised with the guests name on one side and our wedding details on the other.

    favours all bagged up
    favours all bagged up

The mens have cost £1.97 for everything and the ladies are £1.76. Kids favours are still a work in progress but depending on age have a toy or activity pack or small gift.

Deep in our hearts we had wanted to do charity pins so we have ended up making the following. I have also made up a box of flowers matching our buttonholes/corsages which we have made for the wedding party. Both h2b and I's families have been affected by dementia in recent years so there will be a little tin for loose change should any of the guests wish to donate when they take a flower.

In terms of receiving favours - I never expect it but do like to take away mementos of wedding days and I have lots of name cards, OOS, favours etc all saved in a box from various weddings I have been to. So I guess for me I love personalised, keepsake items.

Working on a 3 dream plan for the next 5 years!
    Dream 1 = My gorgeous Mr P proposed - 4/9/11 Sydney Harbour
Dream 2 = Getting Married Easter 2012 by Bonnie Loch Lomond
Dream 3 = Working on that dream life in Australia
