hoping you ladies can help me... i know its traditional to have a father daughter dance after the first dance....however... my father has bad knees ( cant walk more than a few feet without pain...when he does walk he is on 2 walking sticks ) and i feel this could put severe pressure on him...im lookin to do somthin special but not make him feel uncomfortable.
i know if i suggest father daughter dance he will do it to pls me ...but id rather have a few minutes with him and him comfortable and not in pain.
he is giving me away and im so excited but iv made a wee alteration to that too so hes not under complete pressure to walk the length of an aisle. hes a very proud man so its a delicate subject. pls help....

sit your dad in a chair he can boggie in the chair and if he wont sit in the chair then you sit in the chair to as he isnt weight bearing jsut pick a song where u get to use your arms alot you could start with you know the old hand slap things you used to do as a kid that had a song attached it then move on to with a littlle bit of this and a little bit of that and shake your bum but instead of bum say shoulders :D zumba is good in a chair to :D

Are there any facilities at your venue to have a slide show? It would be lovely if a slide show was playing of pictures of you and him and your family, with a nice song in the background x

i personally think its more of an American tradition, so we aren't having one at all. Most people I know haven't had one. I think its a nice idea in practice but for some people its not possible or a bit over the top. A small tribute to your Dad such as FurtureMrsPx said would be just as nice and won't make anyone feel uncomfortable but don't feel pressurised to do things a certain way because of 'tradition'. :)
