If its a gastroscopy, I think it goes up the back - but I was with a patient who was having one and although they can be a bit uncomfortable, they shouldn't be painful :)

My mistake, that's a colonoscopy - it goes down your throat. I think it still shouldn't be painful but maybe uncomfortable. Hugs !! xx

You'll be absolutely fine and they wouldn't do it if they didn't need to! x
It will check if anything is wrong - my ward has loads of them done and the patients have never complained of it being painful. Hope that helps a little x

No it shouldn't go up your nose!! Was he having a nasogastric tube fitted?

lemondrops hun,they sedate you before hun,,it might feel slightly uncomfortable when the tube is inserted,but you will be fine,you will have a nurse there right next to you holding your hand and it will be over before you know it x~x~x

Tiggs is right. Someone will be with you all the time. I have a funny air reflux thing! I can't burp so I get very load noises of air coming up my throat. I wonder if that is something weird too?

my dad had an endescopy a few years ago now he said its an uncomfortable feeling but didnt hurt and he also said that it was a few years ago and that things have been updated and its a lot better than it used to be xx
