I know im not Goff but thought I would add my 2 cents lol..

Ive got 10 tattoos and I have to say the least painful of them all was the one on my foot (Take a peek at my album) I was expecting to be in agony but I hardly felt a thing! However the one's on my forearms were the most painful, they were agonising and caused me the most pain afterwards as well..

Everyone is different hun! What hurts for one person might not hurt the next! I would love one on my ribs but I haven't ever heard of anyone saying it didn't hurt there lol... So as for where the most painful place is, well its too hard to say hun cos what hurt me might not hurt you! You can always have numbing cream put on, but you must make sure you do it properly or it wont work, but as far as im concerned you appreciate the ink a lot more if you feel the pain lol..

I did use numbing cream once, I had my first tattoo done at the base of my back and a year or so later when I went to have my 2nd one done the guy said he needed to redo the first one, so I was like "yeah ok go for it" OMG never again, it was worse than labour, it was excruciating... so a year later when I went for my 3rd and he told me the bottom one needed re-touching up AGAIN I said "No way" so he used numbing cream and it was brilliant, didn't feel a thing! But other than that ive never used it!

As far as your H2B's back is concerned he may be better off waiting till his back is clearer, the weird thing is since ive had tattoos ive found I do get the odd spot or two on my back! Check with your tattooist, they will advise you what to do!

Im getting a new one done next week.. Just the date of the wedding, having that done on my hand!

cheers suzi i wouldnt take anything just me being silly lol ive got 1 at the bottom of my ribs and it was werid i wanted to laugh and cry at the same time cos im very tickleish but i think it hurt more cos i wanted it to be so painful but i hate that 1 cos its a mess now me being silly thought yeah why not trust this guy whos just set up shop in my town i end up having to have hiv tests but luckly im fine apprentaly he was using milton sterlising fulid instead of the equipment your ment to but he did use a fresh needle not that matterd i still had 2 have the test i thought aslong as its a new neddle im fine yeah ryt gosh i so never knew anything back then lol. as for it being more painfull than labour i dont know what its like i had to have c sections :( i really wanted to give birth with my second but wasnt to be, anyways i need to get a desgin drawn ive got my girls names symbols just need to think on their own or with something thru it around it mmm the choices lol

I would like another one too, but after the one on my side hurt (well half hurt half tickled!) im a little reluctant, but am sure i will get the last one (i say that everytime too lol) before i get hitched, so i have 12 months to sort it and work on it xD

Yep - as suzi says... everyone is different - and the advice about alcohol is spot on!

The most painful reported are the ribs, sternum (including over the collar bone) and feet - although women seems to bear the pain of a foot tat better than men! And men and women do seem to differ when it comes to pain lol

If your H2B has a severe spot problem then he should wait until it clears up - the tattoo process is like grazing your skin only deeper, so you may inadvertently introduce infection into it - much more so if the infection of a spot is already there.

My experiences of ink are as follows:

Top of back across shoulders - Hurt, but wasn't as bad as i thought, although towards the top of my neck wasn't pleasant!
Bottom of back - piece of cake!
Bottom of back, around my hips and onto my tummy - back was fine, hips tickled and tummy absolutely KNACKED
Wrists - one of them was absolutely fine, the other hurt like hell! (BUT - it was the wrong time of the month when i had that one done and apparently your pain threshold drops so avoid it during the monthlies!)
Inside of my forearm - piece of cake
Leg piece - runs from top of my thigh to my ankle - wasnt too bad at all, but when he hit my knee and shin it didn't half rattle! The top of my thigh felt like i'd got road rash summat chronic though for days afterwards. It stops just at the top of my foot so i cant tell you from experience what feet feel like!

How long was the gap in between having them done Goff? Mine was less than a year which is why apparently it was more painful... apparently anything over 3 years and it's no more painful than the original tattoo...!!!

im thinking of instead of having the chinese symbols for my 2 girls names in black get it in colour???? do u`s think it would look dafft??im thinking i might get them done one my leg above my ankle bone i will just cry like a baby if it hurts sod it lol might even take my headfones in with me soi can listen to my fone and drown out the noise of the gun thingy it hurts my head :(
im also gonna get a tattoo of the cancer signs mixed together (colon and lekemia) in memory of my grandad (who i was very close to) and my gran who had lekemia both had rare forms of the cancers x

Personally I don't like colour tattoo's, yes I know i have purple in most of mine lol...But I only have black and purple! I love the black and grey work! Although ive seen some stunning colour tattoos!

Thanks hun! He has had quite a bit more done to it since that photo... skulls etc! Funny story behind it really...The day the tattooist came to our house to do some more on it the other half was arrested on my doorstep (don't ask it was hilarious) so anyway the tattooist had to go again but he came back later that night once my H2B was finally let go! So they ended up getting a bit tipsy and by about midnight the tattooist turned round and said "shall I tattoo ACAB on the dragon's knuckles" (for those that don't know, it means "ALL COPPERS ARE BASTAR*DS" lol..) hence the reason why his dragon has ACAB on his knuckle, will have to get a pic of it lol..

Our tattooist is over from Germany this time next week and I am desperately trying to find some money so he can have it finished!
