Right, some advice and opinions please ladies if you dont mind.
We have asked for thomas cook vouchers for wedding gifts as we have lived together for several years and have everything we need.... so thats fine, we decided on thomas cook. We have our honeymmon booked for the week following the wedding and my ex is travelling up from devon and is going to have the kids and keep them in school while we are away, so thats all grand as well.
The idea was that we would book a familymoon / summer holiday for the whole family in the summer. We have each booked off just over a week in august and were looking at 7 night all inclusive trip somewhere.
We want somewhere hot, with a beach and swimming pool etc... slides would be awesome as well.
We want entertainment for the kids, but also interesting sights for us, kids clubs would also be a big bonus so that we could spend a little bit of time doing adult stuff.
I dont really want to go to a spanish resort. My reason for this is that to me it feels a bit like an "every day holiday".... dont get me wrong i have nothing against the idea of going to spain, i have never been and would expect that one day we will....However the idea of the holiday vouchers is that it was like a 1 off big holiday and to me, spain is not that destination. Pretty much everyone i know has spent time in spain and i want something different. Its just a personal preferance really.

Anyway, i was having a look and found one in greece that made me think "wow".... big slides and water park, all inclusive in corfu. This would be brilliant i thought as greece is one of those places i have always wanted to see and it seemed to have everything we were after. It would have cost just about £600 per person, but that would be ok as we would use vouchers and then make up the difference.
Anyway, we looked into it some more and this place actually has some really rubbish reviews. Bad comments about service, food, entertainment everything! So now understandably h2b is not too keen. I have always been of the opinion that a holiday is what you make it and have been happy to book us the most cheap and cheerful accomodation and then spend out to have fun, but thats not really what we want for this holiday.
So i carried on looking and found a lovely looking place, its in tunisia, cost under £500 per person, has pools and slides and is on the beachfront with hotels own beach. The reviews look really quite good. There are a few negatives but actually the positives outweigh them by far. H2b however is not so keen on tunisia. He has been before and says there is a lot of flies etc.... Im sure there are a lot of flies, but surely with fly spray or repellant etc that could be handled?

I looked at cyrpus and places but nothing really jumps out for the price it would cost tbh. The other option is something like feurtoventura maybe?
This will pobably (hopefully) be our last hot holiday for a while as we have plans to try for a baby and to visit guernsey and ireland over the next few years as those we can do by car ferry and stay with family so would still be nice and easy with a new baby.... so i really want to make this one something special.
BTW h2b has said no to disneyland as he wants to do that with baby gray as well in several years time so doesnt want to do it just yet.
    Any ideas or suggestions?

our kids loved eygpt, we stayed at sunrise tirana and it didnt cost the earth, theres water slides and night entertainment was ok, the only downside for me was the food but everyone else liked it enough.
Its hard to find something that suits everyone sometimes but if you book what u want then they will still go and enjoy it as you are spending good quality time together xx

h2b doesnt want to stay in egypt, though would like to be somewhere where we can do a day excursion to the pyramids. I think the trouble is that his parents have a fair bit of money and have travelled all over, if his dad doesnt like somewhere then he will complain about it so then h2b will decide he doesnt want to go there :( Its a shame really as there are so many places i would love to see for myself.

i have done egytpt and tunisa and have been ill in both places so would suggest taking children there. i would prob say turkey as it is cheap, to get too, the all inclusives are normally really good and they treat children so well over there xx

Thanks for that advice. I have looked at turkey and think i may have found the perfect resort! All inclusive, within budget, good reviews, loads of excursions etc including a day trip to rhodes!!! (excursions at an extra cost obviously)
Looks lovely and even h2b is appearing keen which is a result!

Mainly because its so expensive Jill. Its about £1000 each which we cant really afford anyway.... and even if we somehow got THAT lucky with wedding gift vouchers we wouldnt be able to afford it again. I did say that if we waited then my daughter would be 15ish and wouldnt be so excited about it, but to be fair h2b pointed out was there ever an age where i wouldnt have loved to go to disney land....... and i think even at 15 - 16 - 17 i would have loved to go! H2b knew me at that age as well so he knows i would have loved to have gone.
