I feel like just crying my eyes out, I have been upset all day. My brother has just come to visit from Australia he only visit every few years. He said he was going to visit and bring my birthday card, this morning he just posted it through the door and messaged me on bookface to say he had run out of time here and that our mother needs a heart operation. I dont speak to my parents anymore and I have no intentions to as they have caused me so much upset and trouble. I just know that they are behind this. The thing is I was going to ask him to give me away when he visits again in 2 years, thats why we haven't booked anything yet as I dont have the dates when he will be here. Now I feel like it's pointless asking him, and asking a close friend to do it or maybe even get married abroad with our children. I dont know what to do I just feel so sad

Mich, can you send him a nice letter saying this is what you would like him to do? Just to see his reaction. The if he says no, then ask your close friend.

Im sure he would say yes but then when he tells our parents as he is the favorite one, cos he has loads of money and they are money mad, they are bound to try and ruin it for us. They have been trying to split me and h2b up for 24 years and im not going to let them upset us any more. My brother has no idea of the things they have done to us so he only has their side of the story

thats rubbish to hear. i think the only think you can do is talk to your brother and explain how you feel and what you would like etc x
id tell him everything, he'd be getting told that that card through the letter box was the final straw and he'd hear the damn lot, that is outrageous behaviour of him to just shove a card through the letter box when you rarely see each other, id be fuming.

I'd send a letter. Also massively guilt trip him by saying you've waited all that time for him to visit to ask him etc. I just hope your parents have the decency to let you have your happiness and not try ruin things xx good luck
