OMG family!!!....i get married in 358 days (ok so counting but who isn't) but that's not the point this is.... ok so we don't have a lot of money but we are saving very hard to pay for our wedding...now when my sister got married in October her in laws paid for the church my mother paid for her bridesmaid dresses and part of her dress so really all they had to pay for was the remainder of her dress the venue and her photographer..not to bad i suppose then there's me (the black sheep) i asked my mother if she would contribute towards my little girls dresses her response was NO flat out.
Then tonight i had my grandmother moaning at me "i don;t know how your paying for all this" me "i robbed a bank and never told anyone" ok i didn't but she wound me up. What she doesn't understand is my family and i have gone some weeks without things so we could put by for the wedding.
I Reckon we could get married now for less than 2.5 grand or there abouts. the church is £400 the amount left on our rings are £400 then there is little bits like OH suit my dress and my girls dresses. oh and pay for the venue I will do it without there help. Not really a point here but Sorry needed to air!!!

I think u'll be able to get married under that! Shop around loads and never go for the first price someone gives you. I cant see how you mum can be like that when she helped your sister, You cant just help one and not the other! Hopefully she will change her mind as you have a while to go yet.
My parents were abit funny with our choices but our answers were thats what we can afford! No1 should be telling you how to spend your money. x

that seems a bit mean of your mum could it be she just doesn't have the money to help you at the moment.

think tbh its brilliant having help from family, my dad paid the 1st 2 deposits for my 2 venues, came to a total of £1500... now... we are paying for everything else, no credit cards, no loans. but surely you will feel most proud of yourself that you accomplished your dream wedding..
I know its hard hun, my dad paid more out to my sister than he has me, but at the moment touch wood. we dont need it, however if it comes towards the wedding and we need a bit extra im sure he would help me.

Hopefully your mum will do the same and soon will help you. Like others have said, shop around for things, try and make things yourself too... chair covers, if the chairs go with things dont bother getting them! think theres £250 automatically saved lol
