Never had my eyebrows shaped before but my mum says I should for the wedding. She gets hers done and cant believe I dont bother. To be honest I've never seen the point. But booked to do my hair trial and asked for eyebrow shaping at same time, told H2B and he said he didnt want me to have it done, he loves me just as I am and doesnt see why they need doing. So a bit stuck now, part of me wants to have it done just to see what it looks like but I dont want to do something H2B doesnt want me to do. He wants me to look like ME! Tried pulling a few individual eyebrow hairs out and OMG it HURTS! So that may put me off anyway! What is everyone else doing? Going for the shaped look or staying au naturel?

Threading or waxing is better than trying to pluck them yourself and if you have never done it before then you should use a hot towel first before attempting to pull them unless you are like me and just yank away regardless. I would say it would be nice to have them tidied up. (that doesn't mean you have to lose half of them to do it) I doubt your h2b would even notice if you had them done.

Im definately having mine done. I had mine done all the time years ago but got bored of going back to the shop all the time so learnt to pluck them myself but i dont want to be plucking them whilst on honeymoon so am definately having them waxed.

I understand your dilemma, at the end of the day its up to you. What ever you want xx

I do mine myself. I've been a couple of times over the years to get them done by a beautician, but I always wonder why as they never look any different to when I do them.

Maybe leave them as they are for the big day, and then go afterwards to get them done so you can see what they look like? Then your curiosity is satidfied, and you still look like you for the day ... although I agree that he probably wouldn't notice if you went and had them done.

Its twaddle that once you have done them you always have to do them. I have fads when I do them all the time then go months without doing them. All that happens is they grow back the way they used to before. The only thing I have noticed is that they just come back a little finer so don't look as bad.

I'v had mind waxed befor. Not had it done for a long time though, I just pluck, but I will be getting them done before the wedding and also will be having them tinted too.
I would say if you never really have plucked befor, do go get them shaped properly. Will be a lot less painfull for you.

i used to have mine waxed every 2 weeks and now get them threaded. get so annoyed when i cant get to the shop. threading is meant to be better for eyebrows and is cheaper and the result is much better. i havnt had mine done in a while so plucked them today.

i keep thinking about leaving them so they get thicker but manage about a month at most and h2b moans they look awful and need doing! lol!!

i would leave them now as you are so close to the wedding and maybe getting them done after the wedding!

you dont want to feel not you on your wedding day xx

this is what it says about eyebrows for brides off my make up artists website

Give some thought to your eyebrows. Properly groomed and shaped eyebrows will frame your face and are an essential step to any eye makeup application. Don’t wait until the wedding day to reshape them.

I'm getting mine threaded beforehand. Probably quite a while before the big day as then I'll at least I'll have a guideline to work to to pluck them! I've never had anything done to them so wouldn't have a clue where to start, tbh!

I agree with the mummyto2's post... it does make a huge difference in framing your face. I always have mine waxed and it just defines your eyes. In my experience, after getting them done I did need to keep getting them done as they started to grow funny to the inside but I love the look anyway so I'm happy to get them done x

ive been plucking my eyebrows myself for years, and i barely feel it now because ive got the technique sorted lol! if you want to just tidy them up yourself by plucking a little then do it after a hot bath or shower, your pores are more open and skin is relaxed so its less painful and causes less irritation.

I shape my own with tweezers, nothing drastic just enough to keep them tidy. I think they shape and frame my face better when they're neatened up.

It does hurt to pluck your brows at first as waxing your legs but it does get easier the more often you do it

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

Mine have grown out since my accident and they look awful. I have always done my own but now I can't hold my arm above my head. I had them plucked at college and after looking in the mirror for the third time had to reluctantly say Thats fine thanks. Wont have them waxed as when I was a teenager the worst hairdresser in the world took all my black eyebrow hair off and had to tint my baby hairs to give me some seeable brows. I am interested in trying threading but don't know where to go!

Big boots stores do the threading and debenhams, other salons do too, try benefit in debenhams I got mine waxed there but she tinted them first as I had completely lost my shape, wats usually a 10 min treatment lasted half an hour it was fab and best my brows have ever looked xx

superdrug to threading now! only costs £5. there is a shop in aylesbry a big town near me and they only charge £4. they are fantastic in there but because i dont go there much it is pointless just going for eyebrows! it doesnt hurt at all there but i have been to a couple of other places recently and they hurt so much i told myself never again!

i might leave mine for a couple of months as much as i hate it and try and get them a bit thicker! xx

I had threading done once, and although my eyebrows are very fine it did give me a more defined shape, but for me, it bloody hurt! It isn't meant to I don't think but the girl said I must have very sensitive skin, lol. But as for you getting anything done, if you can't see why you need it done and your h2b wants you to leave them alone then leave them, you don't want to arrive looking completely altered, he is marrying you for what you look like now, not what you would look like after a team of women have been plucking and preening you! And after all it is only him you want to impress on the day, not your mum, lol. x

Well, went for my hair trial today and I had forgotten to cancel my eyebrow waxing there! Just when I was about to pay the beautician come up to me and said I could go through now to have it done! It was one of those moments where I was really torn... H2B had said he didnt want me to have it done... I was undecided.... the woman was looking at me expectantly.... so I went for it! It wasnt as bad an experience as I thought it would be. Bit stingy but ok. End result? Very pleased! Showed H2B after and he said it looked very nice! Typical. Glad I had it done now! And not red at all.

I had mine threaded on Saturday - totally unexpected, but glad I did. It was fine - far less painful than I was expecting (less pain than a bikini wax and by far less painful than plucking my own eyebrows)! Looks really nice and wasn't too red afterwards. I've just started to develop the little telltale signs of sensitive skin though - little irritation spots where the hairs have come out. I'm sure it will calm down in a couple of days though. Still happy with the result though :)

I get mine shaped every now and again - basically when a simple pluck will no longer do and I've made them a bit wonky in the meantime!! Waxing isn't too painful, but threading is meant to be amazing! Going to try that out next time I get them done :-)

Do you have photoshop at home? Just thinking you could take a pic of yourself and then erase some of your eyebrows so you can see what you look like!!
