I ordered an exercise bike a few weeks ago but it never turned up when it should have so I cancelled the order.. anyway I've been looking at getting one again and found one in JJB sport that looks really good but I've suddenly become doubtful it will work. Does anyone use one? I want to lose weight but especially from my arms and belly and can't really see a bike doing that?!

Cardio will help your body burn fat all over so an exercise bike would be good in that context while also toning bum and legs etc....

You could mix exercise bike with spending some time doing stomach crunches or light weights (you could use tins of beans or bottles of water to save on buying weights) to concentrate on toning tummy and arm muscles.

I got one from Argos, was only about £50 and the LED display doesnt work any more but the resistance level meter thing still does and thats the main thing. I try to go on every day (well nearly!!) mainly for cardio exercise, but you can do spinning exercises like press ups on the handle bars or use some small weights etc to make it work your arms, and as long as you keep good posture and work hard at it it should be a good all over exercise :)

Thats brilliant, thank you girls. I'm useless when it comes to this sort of stuff, I even asked h2b as he's a weight lifter and he told me to go for a run in a very sarcastic tone lol tut! .. I will get one and give it a go and get some weights. I have a resistance rope thingy, maybe I should start using it!

Oh yes defo! I'd never be seen dead in a gym though, unless they don't mind watching my boobs bounce all over the place :-/

yeah, has cost me £68 to join a health spa / gym today! Its gonna cost me £48 a month and there was a £20 admin fee. Luckily i went today as the direct debits come out on the 15th so i had no interim fee to pay just a month simples :D if i had gone tomorrow i would have effectively had to pay 2 months membership upfront.
Though i thnk joining was the way forward for me, i have gym equipment here but at home there is always something else needing to be done and this way i have access to a swimming pool and sauna as well.

Wow that is alot of money! I'm far too shy for a gym just yet, maybe if I can lose weight at home I will start going. I have a monthly pass for the swimming pool though, saying that, I haven't been since last week :-/ oops
