....and picked a DJ for our evening reception. We're having it when we get back from honeymoon (and 4 weeks after the wedding). I emailed a few DJ's last week - and had a few quotes back. The one we've picked isn't the cheapest, but we've managed to get him for £200 for 7.30pm-11.30pm. I've checked (and double checked lol) his site, read his blog, reviews and pics/videos - and he has 15 years experience so should know what he's doing.
I emailed him earlier and he's got back to us to say he's free for our party - so DJ BOOKED!!!! YAY!!!!

Congrats! I found getting a DJ one of the hardest things to do because you can't really 'see' their work like a photographer or a videographer, unless you gatecrash one of their gigs lol!
Well done!

Good news hun! Bit less to worry about xx
We're having a ceilidh/disco for ours (of that I'm sure) and we've found a band that'll do it for £120 cheaper than any of the others. Only thing is they dont have a demo and you cant go to a gig as such because it's generally weddings they do so Im hoping that I find a band with a discount at the wedding fair today... I'd rather go another £50 and be able to see what they can do rather than put my trust and a load of money into a band that could be rubbish x

Know what you mean Tinsel - it's been harder choosing a DJ because you can't see them before you book usually. Now just the catering to sort out....

Yay! Another thing off the list!

All the ones we met at wedding fairs were cheesy and slimy.
I was pleased when we found ours - he's down to earth, 'normal' and a good price too!

Another one who gave us a quote for £150 sounded ok initially - then after scouring(lol) the website, he kept mentioning 'combined experience of 25 years' and 'all DJ's'. This sounded some alarm bells because I didn't want to book with him then find someone completely different turn up at the party. At least the one we've booked is who you get and not an agency or company of DJ's/entertainers.
