our hog roast with rolls, stuffing, condiments plus potato salad type stuff and coleslaw is £11 per person, which i dont think is too bad... and surprisingly its one of the cheaper options for the evening food too x

We're looking at the Reeds as a possibility as well kellyG2Be! xx
aww i know its really nice there isnt it, i love their reception room where they have the white drapes...but not sure we're gonna have enough guests for them to allocate us that room..and thats one of the reasons i love it so we'll have to wait and see what they can do for us x

Were having a large finger food buffet as my partner has a very large family and is the easyiest way for us :D
CommentAuthor*KelBel*
its because the daytime meal wedding breakfast is £35 a head which is £1750, then the night time is £11 per head which is £990, and then the drinks package is £6 per head which is £300 , total £3040, so little bit less than i thought and thats for 50 at the day and 90 at the night, but thats the total cost of my venue, cos they dont charge for room hire or anything like that if u have more than 40 at ur day do, and they include the cost of the dj/disco in this price too x i didnt think that was too bad, especially considering how much some of them charge round here! some of our friends are booked at the ashbourne which is close by and their venue total is £7000! more than double mine!x

Ooh very nice. We really liked Hall Farm too, but with all the people Marc wants to invite to our evening recpetion I think it's going to be a bit too small :( it's a real shame though because it's a lovely venue. We've still got a couple to look around (one also being hemswell court!) but Marc is being really picky and doesn't want one too far out of town. Which narrows down our choices!
My favourite is The Haborough Hotel, it's lovely. The rooms are fantastic. But their quote was WAAAYYY out of our price range. So now we're thinking The Oaklands and have provisionally booked there. It doesn't have the wow factor for me, but it ticks all the boxes with what we want for food, location, accomodation, price, grounds etc.

No! They haven't! God, it's a good job you've mentioned it. I'll bring it up at the next meeting we have. Tbh, I'm still hoping to find somewhere a bit nicer that's in our price range, but we'll see.
