Light snacks available

Just put something like Menu: for the evening do, we'll be putting on a spread of bacon rolls/sausage rolls at .... time for all of our evening guests. We advise that it will not entail a full buffet so should be aware, to save any hungry guests later in the evening, to eat prior to attending if requiring something more substantial.

Or something along those lines ?? xxx

I think I'd mention sausage/bacon rolls for the buffet - so people will know it isnt a full on buffet and any veggies will be aware. I'd probably put on evening invites - ' cash bar and we will be providing sausage & bacon roll snacks'

Clive we are getting married at 2pm and we are aiming to sit down for our WB at 4.30pm ish and our venue told us that we would be finished at about 7pm! with all the speeches etc inbetween! Our venue have said people can go up for seconds... i guess it doesnt waste the food then! We have 3 starters to choose from and 3 different meats plus a veggie options and then all the veg and 2 different types of potatoes... then we have 3 or 4 puddings to choose from and then we have mince pies and coffee after dinner before disco starts as we are getting married around xmas time!
I am slighlty worried it may look abit school canteenish but i think they will do it table by table and work around it! to be honest i cant wait for mine as its a christmas carvey ;o) i think people will enjoy ours too as no doubt it will be cold outside!
So our meal will finish at about 7pm with mince pies and coffee.. so bacon rolls at 9pm seems okay to me but i cant see many people from the day eating them! only the brothers no doubt! ;o)

Ruth we're getting married in December and doing the same as you. Ceremony at 1pm, 3 course sit down meal though, then having bacon/sausage baps in the evening. I just find buffets too expensive, they are never very good and people much prefer bacon rolls!

I like Joanna's wording, we'll probably put something like that on ours.

The ideas above are good, however, I never expect to eat if I'm going to an evening event, so I always eat dinner beforehand, and usually get a takeaway on my way home (yes, I'm greedy like that lol); I think most people are the same, and TBH, I think bacon rolls are more filling than the typical finger-food that's on offer at buffets.

So in short, I don't really feel like you need to warn them, but, if you do, I'd probably go with Joanna's wording, which is nice and simple and to the point.
