I sent mine to both, That way if anyone from evening needs to take time off work or arrange childcare they have plenty of time.
Happily in love and can't wait to be married! xx

My future in laws once received a save the date card and booked time of work and then found out months later that they were only invited to the evening do. They were rather confused and disappointed. Perhaps if you make it obvious on the save the date that it is for the evening only that would be ok. But my in laws assumed they were being invited to the whole day.

I'm going to send save the dates to everyone who I know for certain I want there. Most people are going to have to travel and book accomodation so for my wedding, I think that's the most sensible.

Just day guests or evening guests may expect a full day invite x

I hadnt even considered sending them to evening guests! Thought just hadnt crossed my mind, but we're probably just going to email and text everyone, as the ones we got have the first venue on we wanted, but due to budget problems we had to change. We now feel it isnt aposh bash so we can cut out save the dates, most people know when it will be anyway
Remember : To the world you may be just one person,
BUT to one person you may just be THE WORLD x x x

We'll probably do both, but make it clear to the evening guests that it will just be an evening invite, both on the invite, and also by speaking to them.
Although our venue isn't too far away, most people will need to make travel arrangements, or else book accommodation as it isn't exactly down the road. Also, some of our evening guests are work colleagues of mine, some who work late night Saturday, or Sunday, so they may want to book time off/swap shifts if they're coming.

I have only sent them to my Day guest's as its alot more important for them to be able to come.

Me n h2b we're discussing this last night and decided we were going too, pretty much for the same reason as others - travel, accom & childcare arrangements!
I think its a good idea (plus if no one can make it off your day list then people from the evening can always be asked and they will already no to save the date!)
