Hi all, my party is such that the day guests will get to the venue for 4-4.30pm, speeches 6.30, 7.30 mingle, and evening food comes out around 8ish - the venue closes at midnight and we were thinking of asking evening guests to come along 8-8.30ish - but is this too late? Do you think we should ask them to come 7.30-8 instead for some drinks before the food comes out? We've only ordered food for the 160 day guests but as there's only 42 evening we thought we wouldn't bother ordering extra food - but H2B has suggested we stick with the 160 in case day people don't make it, so technically there's a bit over for the evening guests - is that enough?

We had our evening people from 8pm. We worked out our evening buffet for 60% of the people who would be there, and there was some left over xx

I dont think there is anything wrong with evening guests arriving for the mingle before the evening food comes out. After all they are there to celebrate not just to eat arent they? We are having buffet for day guests with speeches etc at around 4pm, the bar and chocolate fountain starts up at 6pm and our hogroast will be ready to serve at 8pm, so we are inviting evening guests from 6:30 so that our all day guests get a look in at the chocolate and served at the bar before the evening guests arrive.

Guests will be arriving around 7.30pm to be greeted with champagne, have a mingle with the other guests and then everyone will be taken through to the Music Room for the reception and the first dance at 8pm. Our Chocolate fountain starts at 8pm, evening buffet which is bacon rolls and potato wedges are being served at around 9.30pm x

I've got mine coming at 7.30, my lot have a tendency to be early but hopefully not this day as we cant get into this room till half 6
CommentAuthorRoxy
We will prob say 7, expecting people to arrive between 7.30-8, if they arrive earlier there will be enough room for everyone. I want them there as soon as speeches are over as I want to make the most of the night :)

we are putting 7.30 and making it clear the first dance will be at 8pm in the hope this encourages people to turn up on time and not interrupt the dance. Our food is being served at 9.00 at night as our bridal breakfast will not be served until 3 and not finsihed until 5.30

Hmm ok, we're thinking we might say from 7-7.30 to make it a decent night, the first dance isn't till 9 and we might wait to invite the evening guests until we've got some invites for the day, then ask the caterer what to do about food numbers - thanks ladies!
