Hi all, For our evening food we are having through the caterers at reception some bacon rolls or sausage stuff but also having someone make us some cupcakes and I was wondering for cupcakes and outside orders what percentage would we order? Say 200 people there in evening would we order 200 cupcakes or only 150 or more than 200 . Hope that makes sense lol

Our venue said we have to cater for 90% of evening guests although I do think that's quite high.

We were told cater for 75% of all guests for the evening buffet. Same at my sisters wedding. It was all plenty of food.

I was told to to cater for 70% so if I had 100 guests, cook for 70!
Although I grabbed a bargain and instead of paying extra for it just to be wasted, I'm catering for 50 with about 200 people coming! Most of them would have had either the 3 course meal only 2 hours earlier or they would have eaten before they arrived!

i would cater for 200 cupcakes so that each guest can have one if they want, you wont be worrying about if you have enough, if you are intending to not spend a fortune just get half and some people wont have one but will probably be ok with that as 100 looks lots, they wont know how many there were to begin with, if you get what i mean xx
Thanks all :) think one thing that is putting me off getting at least 1 each is we are eating about 5-5:30ish so a lot of people will be full so that's why we do bacon roll stuff :)

This is a problem we never had as I only catered once for the guests as we did not eat until 6ish. Was about 8 by the time that had all finished. I did get 90 cupcakes though along with the cake on top so if the guests wanted one each they could, but a few took one home. We ended up with loads left. They were yummy though.

That's what I'm worried about having loads left over, however I would be no longer slimming for the dress so could finish them off lol

You could always get little cupcake boxes so people can take them home

I never got boxes but wish I had now as more peeps would have taken one.

Day guests may be more likely to have a cupcake to keep them going as its smaller than a bacon roll so I think I would do enough cupcakes for most people and then a smaller percentage of bacon or sausage rolls. I like the idea of having little boxed for people to take them home. You could always find a template and make them if it saved a few pennies. X

Boxes do sound a like a good idea, I was thinking about boxes for slices of wedding cake too :)

good idea Teresa :)
One thing also is I have elderly relatives who I know won't last until cake being cut due to being tired so wanted to save some for them :)
