we're currently deciding whether or not to have one as we are having 63 (possibly 70) guests to the whole day with no additional evening guests and the sit down meal isnt until 5.30pm so dont rewally think theres much point in having one...what do you all think?
Also thinking of maybe having a sweet/candy bar buffet if we dont have a proper buffet.
    xx

If your not having your meal until 5.30pm and they say to allow 2 hours for your meal, I don't think anyone would be hungry.

thats what i thought too thanks, just certain family members think it should be done, wondered if i was only one who thought it made more sense not to waste money on something that will more than likely go to waste xx

i am in a similar boat, i have 60 guests with another possible 5 evening guests, but these are just boyfriends of my sisters / partners daughter. I am thus unsure wither to put one on.
My idea is to put on some sandwiches and sausage rolls on, and have my wedding cake served at the same time and only catering for about 70 % of the people.
Our meal will start at about 5 , and i was hoping to have the buffet at about 8.30/9.

they might be made full guests, if H2B aunts dont come up , he doesnt think one will and is unsure about 4 others, as one is quite old and the others are no overly close. If thats the case ill put the evening ones into full day. Unfortunately i can only fit 60 in the garden room, and i dont want to use the other rooms as then it will not feel as close and together but spread out and open .If you know what i mean ( im horrible at explaining) if that is the case i will have no evening guests - but i think it is still expected of me.Ill se what my gran say's tomorrow as she is paying for it along with my dad.

I think by having the meal later you'll be fine not having a full on evening buffet, if they get peckish there's always the leftover cake and nibbles from the bar x

I think if you're having a late meal and no extra guests in the evening you don't need to have an evening buffet. We're not sitting down until 6pm but we're inviting people to the evening so we're having sausage/bacon/cheese sandwiches later on, and anything that's been left over from our Chinese buffet.

A candy buffet and the cake would be more than enough if people are eating their main meal at 5.30pm, be cheaper for you too!

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

We are sitting down for our meal about 5 so this got me thinking as well. We are having the meal and then we were going to get a buffet set up so that it could be opened about 8/9 oclock. We have a local indians that do buffet services so we though if we ordered stuff from them and just put that out with sadnwiches then surely it would get ate. If it didnt it wouldnt go to waste as it could be eaten the next day and everyone going likes indian food and as h2b keeps saying you cant whack a good indian when you have had a drink or two lol. xx

We are just having a buffet at around half 4ish, with a candy buffet and the wedding cake, but now worried that guests will be hungry later on as that is all we are providing. I thought that if all the guests have had their lunch before our wedding at 3pm then they will be happy to have the buffet and a boogie etc., and just go home, lol. Now thinking should we be providing a bacon buttie or something around 8ish, aaaaaargh! x
