    Its all up to you and how you define a serious relationship. But if you you would prefer to invite friends over boyfriends you haven't met for example, people should understand.

    this confuses me too! at the moment i have allowed space in the numbers for a few plus ones and am waiting to see who's still together/who's broken up nearer the time. what i also wonder is, my bridemaid has been with her boyf for lke 2 years so he is definitely invited, but he will be on his own all day while she is doing bridemaid duties...so should i ask him if he would prefer to just come in the evening? i guess thats the same as your bestman dilemma! one of my other friends has a different guy on her arm every week she is definitely not getting a plus one on her invite lol xx

    I am struggling with this too hence I havent finished writing my evening invites. Some of my friends have got boyfriends recently that I have never met and I am already struggling for numbers. I cant imagine walking around at my own wedding do and seeing people I dont know. You ladies have quite a while to sort this out so I wouldnt worry just yet.

    i thought about inviting all plus ones and children to my wedding but luckily i can do this due to my venue holding 250 and we have been quoted for 250 but if we get anymore family members between now and our wedding some plus ones will have to go its hard as you dont want ppl to start getting stroppy coz ur not inviting their plus ones yet some ppl can bring their its very confusing. A girl i work with is getting married in sept and has refused to let any plus ones go to save arguements xx

    I just decided our friends and family no plus ones during the day luckily everyone knows at least 1 person however on the night time sure bring them its a fix price at the evening so I don't care =) and if they don't like it they don't have to come x

    I've been agonising over this one for ages now and have come to this conclusion;
    Some plus ones are welcome all day - if they're married, engaged or have been together 18 months or more (mad, we do actually know people who are in a marriage/relationship but we don't know the OH)

    Seeing as the night do is 'free' then if we have 'single' guests during the day they're welcome to bring their plus one in the evening.

    a) I'm not having people we don't know there during the day, this is an intimate celebration of our love for one another, not a blummin free for all for them down the street and their dog :P
    b) I'm loathed to fork out X amount per head and put in all the work for people who will just be 'whatever' about it

    Evening do is going to be fairly informal after 1st dance so I've got no objection to people bringing a plus one to it :)

    Alternatively... see whos serious three months before. Our guest list is having a few extras added on as people can't come and other people have developed serious relationships.

    i think i'll fiddle with that - having top table issues now as we have 11 on it now - have an idea to make it 10 again but need to speak to MOH about it as it would be her little girl moving to sit with her dad instead. :-s

    Kimi - me as well, having table issues myself. Was going to have totally informal and sit where you like type reception/buffet but then thought it might be nice to have at least a top table. However, i do NOT want to sit in close proximity to my mother as I know she will spoil my day, so having problems where to put her. Did consider the garage.

    I have started doing my guest list today, although I know it'll change over the next 2 years, and I have basically giving everyone a partner or plus one. I might look into this now i've read this thread :) xxx

    the easiest way to go about it is to make your list of definates that you want there,then if theres room add the plus ones,also make a reserve list so that if people drop out late you can fill their seat!!!!
