The next thing on mine and h2bs list is to get the rings... I've got quite a small, plain engagement ring and so want something a bit more sparkly for my wedding ring rather than just a plain band. I've seen a lovely amethyst eternity ring..would it be strange to have that as my wedding ring? I've read its becoming a more popular thing to do...

wouldn't be strange at all!! It's VERY popular now for women to have eternity rings as their wedding rings! I'm thinking of doing the same thing myself! Diamonds are a girls best friend!

My friend recently got married and has a full ring of diamond which is officially an eternity ring and it looks GORGEOUS! You have whatever you want to have!

    xx

Ahhhh phew!! I didnt know if it was a bit odd, I was telling my mum the other day, and she wasnt particularly enthusiastic about it lol Also our wedding colours are all purples, so thought it'd be a pleasant reminder :)

Oooh sounds gorgeous :) you can have whatever you want!! I'm looking at having a wedding band with a diagonal line of lil diamonds thru it!

My mom told me the origin of wedding bands, back before victorian times or something when men 'owned' their women on chains and shackles type thing, the plain wedding band us women used to wear represented the chains from when we were previously 'owned'! so definitely pimping out your shackles sounds like the way forward in my opinion!!!
    xx

I dont think it would be odd, the other thing to think of is what is your engagemnet ring and wedding ring like as when i have a wedding ring on with my engagement ring i wont have any room for an eternity ring as well (which is the tradition of wearing all 3 together) so i did say about maybe getting one as my wedding ring to save not ahving one at all (although i do already have 1 that i wear on my otehr hand but any reason for more diamonds lol) xx

I think go for it too.... Who's going to know its an eternity ring really... They'll just think its the wedding ring you've chosen, no one says it has to be plain xx

My mother was given an eternity ring by my dad on her 40th birthday, they had been married about 16 years at the time. To me that is what an eternity ring is, a loving gift from a man to his wife rather than a replacement for the traditional wedding ring.

If a woman buys her own eternity ring to me it just doesn't hold the same sentiment, but like others say do what you want its your wedding.
