Hello, I hope this hasn't been discussed before. I have searched the forum but not found anything.
I can't decide on a song to walk down the aisle to, but have a few options. What's stopping me from deciding is that I don't know what the norm is with the entrance music. Do you play the whole song and walk in at the end at the build up of the song. Or stop the music (or fade out) after you've reached the front, or play the whole song and just stand there at the front til it finishes?!
I'm not sure! What did you do/are you planning to do? Or will the venue/registrar have a view on this?
Thanks ladies! x

fading out is a good option. if the best bit of the music is in the middle, u could start it there

That's the tough one, some of the songs I like, the best bit's at the end and I don't know whether it's best to just start the song near the end or wait til it's coming then walk in! Building suspense or boring for the guests though!? x
Probably also depends on how big your bridal party is. I think our song is fairly long with a longish intro but then I have 7 bridesmaids and both mums with our son walking in before me.
It’s so great to find that one special person
you want to annoy for the rest of your life....

So really, i'm looking for a song with a good intro? x

I would say so, or have the bridal party walk really slow and maybe have your mums walking in too like LittleMissBossy suggested

Yes, but bear in mind how long it will take for everyone to walk up. My song was just under three minutes long, and I think most of it was played ..

Thanks ladies! I know it's quite a small detail to be worrying about, but it's probably going to affect which song I pick. Will get choosing! x

It was a good question though. Had wondered about this myself so thanks for asking

In my registration choices we have certain spaces for music for the certain times of the ceremony i.e as guests assemble x 5 songs entrance of the bride x 3 songs, signing the register x 5 songs and exit of bride and groom x songs... but are we really going to need that many songs? xxx

Our hotel said we need to pick 4 songs. One for entrance, two for register signing, one for exit. We're also adding music for when guests are waiting. That's what they said is the norm. X

I had wondered the same so thank you for asking this. I have three bridesmaids entering before me but I have a huge set of stairs to walk down before the alter at the bottom so think my music will need to be fairly long. I'm sure the hotel will be aware of this though so should be able to guide me as to the length of my music (I hope so anyway) ha ha xx
