As im having my ceremony and reception at a hotel using the same room for both, I have to allow at leat 2 hours between to turnaround the room. I was thinking about hiring a caraciturist to keep people occupied but has anyone got any other ideas please :) ???

We've got a string quartet and a magician. We were not going to have a magician (as I thought it was lame) then I met our guy. He's like Dynamo! Can't wait to see my Dad's face!

depends on what u want to spend if its for kids adults or both have u got grounds outside that can be used. were havin bucking bronco bouncy castle and duel also maybe a photo booth with a basket full of assecorires then get one pic of each pic taken from guest to stick in a book and write something next to it x
but theres lots of options bingo and who ever shouts house has to do a silly dance or some sort of dare, or wins a small gift or depending if what sort of group u are has to down a shot and then spin on there head 5 times haha x

We are also having to sort out a turnaround time, but in that time we are just going to do photos and also canapes etc and have a few drinkies with the guests.

we have to wait an hour ish, and don't have anything in my budget, so I guess maybe OH and I will take some time together to reflect on the day at this time, and guess that guests will just have to stay around drinking.

We will be having about an hour and a half after ceremony before the wedding breakfast, when photos will be being done, the string quartet will still be playing for some of that and then it will just be the bar for drink and canopes. I think its nice for guests to talk amongst themselves and mingle with people who they might not otherwise get to talk to, also it will give guests who are staying at the hotel time to check in to there rooms as check in isnt till 2pm x

We are having sparkly wine and canapes outside whilst our pictures are being taken around the grounds of the castle and then a 6 white dove release with the children. Let's hope it doesn't rain but if it does we are going to the stateroom in the castle for wine and photo's but minus the doves lol

We've seen a company that do a mini casino, for a couple of hours at a time, which looked awesome, but our budget didn't stretch, also wouldn't fit in the venue. But thats a different idea, that i've not seen before at weddings. And with my line of work we do ALLOT of weddings. And have never seen this before :)

We're having a string quartet who are playing for the ceremony and will continue to play during the photo's drinks. we're also having a caricaturist during that time too. I was hoping to get a picture of everyone x

We are having a trio to welcome our guests into the ceremony and during that and the meal. Then while we are having photo's we are having either a silohettest (think thats what they are called?) or a caricturist while hot chocolate is handed out! Then for the reception we have a sweet/dessert buffet, which will be opened after bacon rolls and mini chip cones as well as the dj. Apart from the hot chocolate we are not providing any drinks so the cash bar will be open from the end of the ceremony until the end of the reception.

We are not putting on any form of entertainment, we get married and have our reception and eve all in the one place, but have the use of a second room for drinkies atc, the bar will be open all the time and in honesty alot of people hang around chatting to others during this time. We will then go into have our wedding breakfast. then not long (about 30mins) after that - our evening starts. Loads of weddings i have been to before have had entertainment and not many people have been bothered about it - so for me...there are other things i would rather spend my money on xxxx

we have photos and as there is only 21 of us im sure we will all be involved...h2b and i go off for a little carrage ride and weve just put some sparkling wine out for the guests to sip before we get back....just a relxaed atmopshere for us

I can imagine there is a gap in between the wedding breakfast/photos and the start of my evening reception but I havent organised anything or even thought of it. I was thinking about hiring a wedding creche around this time & the evening reception though to occupy the children so the parents can have a bit of quiet time and relax.
