hi, has anyone got their engagement ring insured? Is it worth it and how much is it a year? It's an expensive ring and if it got lost / stolen / damaged we wouldn't be able to replace it or get it fixed.
    xx

Most house insurance companies cover your ring within your home insurance so we dont have any special policy just for the ring xx

I agree, just stick it on your house insurance, makes sense hun. I just phoned them and gave them details and it was arranged over the phone, no proof needed as you pay according to its value xxx

My H2B got mine insured for 2 years when he bought it. We've also got my wedding ring insured through the jewellers too as it has stones in. I think it was £25 for 2 years; not much and there's no excess unlike house insurance.

Mine has gone on the house insurance as a separate listed item with the extra cover of outside the house as its expensive but it only cost a n extra small premium to put it on but the peace of mind is priceless

Mine is insured - david bought the insurance when he got the ring but it only covers if any of the stones fall out of it..

I not only had to declare it, but I think due to the value, I had to provide a certificate of valuation from Tiffany's too within 10 days of notifying them. It really does depaend on your insurance company and the value of the ring.

You can only put it on the house insurance policy if the single-item cover limit on your policy is set at a high enough level to cover the ring....but make sure the policy covers possessions outside of the home too as basic policies generally do not. Mine was made for me and the insurance valuation is double the actual cost so mine is not covered but I can pay extra on the policy to have it covered. I am now looking round for independent insurance as I am worried if I did have to make a claim how much it would add the the house insurance premiums

Under house insurance it's only covered if anything happens to it inside the house, we had to change our house insurance so that my ring was covered outside of the home to x
