I'm lost here, two threads and I can barely keep up with one lol!!!
Nicola, all you can do is present your side of the story. If she believes it or not is her hard cheese, she certainly shouldn't be acting like a blooming chav in public, at an event that was to celebrate something happy regarding her own son. Behaviour like that isn't acceptable in any situation. And to quit her job over it is ridiculous!!!
Has hubbys dad said anything to you? Is he speaking to you both or not? Maybe he can shed some light over his wayward wife. And perhaps speak to his sister, or get him to do it, explain you're hurt and bemused and don't understand whats happening.

You do have 21 months, and a lot can happen in that time, so don't be hasty and cancel anything, or uninvite people, as it will only inflame the situation. I hope it works out for you xxx

My h2b couldnt say anything at the time cause he wasn't there when she kicked off, and wasn't there either when his mum followed me upstairs in the house to have another go at me. As soon as he did know what was happening he did say something.

Neither of us thought to mention anything to his sister, cause she wasn't there, she wasn't part of the having a go at me so we kept stumpt.

She replied to our message saying that she mistakenly thought she was campin another weekend, and only realised a couple of weeks before that it was the same weekend. Shes not told her mum that we booked it on the same weekend as her camping as even she didnt realise we had. So its his mum jumping to the complete wrong conclusion.

To be honest its all just knackering me!

Hubbys dad wasn't there (his mums husband h2b step dad) step dad was there for beginning but had to leave early. Hes appauled at his wife, he's not really the outgoing type so hasnt disclosed much of whats been said other than he didnt agree with it but hes ok with us.

Well we've not invited or uninvited anyone yet, only got rough ideas of numbers so not thinking that far ahead.

I just really want her to appologise for the things she said. They were hurtful and until she does i really cant consider her to be my mate anymore as friends just dont say those kinda things x

    Happily Married! :) xxx

I just cannot believe that whole thread - that is mental. Seriously, I do not understand behaviour like that. I feel so sorry for you, I would have died in that situation, I hate things like that. Can only respect you for keeping it together and handling the situation as well as you did. I think the ball is entirely in her court. It'f for her now to come to you with an explanation or an apology or something. I really hope she does because it sounds like you had a good relationship until all of this craziness happened :(

well I hope the sister now tells her mum to grow up. Good luck and keep us posted.I think your hubby to be also ought to have a quiet word with her but on his terms, not his mum and make it clear what the score is and that this behavior will not be tolerated.

well nicola, ive not read everything but omg! you must have been gutted! good on ur h2b telling his mum that you are his life now...bless him! Some people are just horrible arent they, especially when they've had a drink.
Tbh she is ur mil2b and you are going to have to try to get along with each other for h2bs sake, maybe give it a week or so (til shes over the embarrassment) and ask to meet up for a coffee (no alcohol involved lol) and sort it all out!
    Hope u work it out

Wow that's horrible! I have problems with my mil2b too but she was a crazy ***** from the start, I can't imagine what I'd do if it was out of the blue like that?! Must have knocked you for six!
Good on your h2b for sticking by you, mines good like that too but there are plenty out there that aren't so let him know you appreciate it.

OMG I have only just seen this thread!!

I'm absolutely appalled! What is it with mil's accusing dil's of "bullying" or "leaving out"Mor otherwise conspiring against their daughters??

If I were you and my mil had tried to hit me she had better kill me because I'd have put her teeth down her gullet.

Ugh inlaws make me SO angry, by the time I got to the end of your post I was foaming at the mouth

Tell your inlaws to f off. Uninvited them from the wedding and don't have anything else to do with them. Your h2b has already made the choice of which woman is the most important in his life

This sounds like something my Mum would do. I have nothing 2 do with her as she was so disrespectful 2 me and my oh (she once compared my oh to Mossolini as my oh is Italian??!!!) She often shouts out 'sl*t' and 'wan*er' as we drive/walk past her. The only advice I can give u from my experience is 2 rise above it and ignore her. She will either come 2 u in her own time or not at all. I hope it all works out :)

Its all calmed down now, I got mil2b to appologise, his sister explained that she didnt realise her trip was the same time as our party so i just accepted that and let it go.
Im just being 100% careful now around them all and hoping nothing more will happen.
His mil2b said she wont drink at the wedding too so we're ordering her a soft drink package instead of wine lol :)

    Dearie me, what a nightmare!

Well, if you look on the bright side, at least it has illustrated her tendency to go psycho when drunk before the wedding, and that she is sticking to soft drinks for the big day itself....though shame on her for ruining your engagement party and I hope she does something really spectacular for you to make up for being such a b****.
