Is/have any had/having engagement party.. or something o the families can get together before the wedding n get to know each other? I am undecided on whether to have one or not? Like the idea of it.. n could prob blag my brither into lettin me have it in his cafe/bistro...

We had a queit engagement, family and a few close friends so they could all meet. x

Well...we wouldn't of had an engagement party per se..but as we got engaged near my 40th we combined the both!!
I would probably go with a nice restaurant with close friends and family...

we where going to have one, then we wherent, then we where going to have a engagment/my 30th birthday meal (which worked out to be to many people) so we are having a party now, cant wait its not to long now 24th july xx

i want an engagement party but as we have just moved into a new flat we just can not afford it. i really wanted a garden party at my mums but now i think we will just have a meal later on in the year so the two familys can meet

we had one its was a good night well a I think it was (I woke up at the bottom of the stairs & H2B was naked on the settee haha ) and we got loads of prezzies 4 toastie makers haha x

I just had a bbq and people who could make it came. It was nice, really relaxed and a chance to see people i hadn't seen in ages

weve not had anythin yet n cos weve had to put the date back thought itd be nice to let everyone know our final date n ahve a lil bit of a celebration x hes said no to a joint hen/stag... his best man is payin for him to go on canal boats.. not my cuppa tea... am off to edinburgh for a weekend that way my family who cant make it over for the wedding can join in x

We're having one a week from today...just going to BBQ in the garden! Also my aunts are throwing me a bridal shower when I go to visit them in the US in June. I think it's just good opportunity to see everyone you're inviting to the wedding :)
