    Hello!

So as the title says, my other half proposed on Friday. It was very spur of the moment, so he didn't actually have a ring, he just felt like it was the right moment and went for it. I am completely fine with this, but I think he feels like the proposal was a bit "lacking" now, so suggested we chose a ring together and then told people once the ring arrived.

Covid and two children meant that online shopping was the way forward, so I sent him links to 4 that I really liked to let him still choose and surprise me a bit. All good, it's coming tomorrow!

Much as I am bursting to tell people, I'm also a bit hesitant. Does anyone else get this or am I being an absolute weirdo? I have no doubts about the marriage (we've been together since I was 18 and I'm now 30!) but I think both our families will be extremely excited and might get a bit.. full on. We have a few big characters in the immediate family and I'm just a bit apprehensive about all the well meaning input that's about to come our way

Don't worry about not proposing with a ring. My soon to be Husband did the same. We got the perfect ring.

I told close family right away and then went to Facebook once I had the ring.

Each couple's story is different; I think the way he proposed was just as special without a ring as it might have been with one!

Telling the family is very much on your terms; you can tell them whenever you feel ready, I guess. Just make sure you're prepared for the 'well-meaning input' (or should it be onslaught?!) that you're about to receive, and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Have you thought about what kind of wedding you want to have yet?
