    Hi All,

    Need some help.
We are getting married next Saturday, out favours were chilli seedlingsfor guys and lavender seedlings for girls. Bought pots, organza bag etc. Planted them out end of April and hardly any of come through, prob only got about 50, we need 90, some of the come out straight away so now are dead or really tall, others are tiny little shoots coming through. Have never had a problem growing things before but also never been on a time limit before.

Anyone got any ideas what we could do instead? OH wants to scrap the idea but I am thinking of something else. We need to get it all sorted by Friday and on the cheap.

Forgot to add, not sweets or chocolates, as we are having a large sweet cart and lots of food on the day.

It also looks like I have to buy my MOH a new gift as the one I got her 18 months ago the silver plating is now coming off. It cost £50 and has never been out of box. Going to take it back tomorrow but don't know where receipt it so don't think they will do anything.

    Please help.

    Thanks.

    Vickie

Could you not have seeds as a favour instead of the seedlings?

Have you still got any seeds left? A friend of ours put some seeds in little envelopes as her favours, so we could grow them in our gardens. How about that?

I'd skip the favours, a lot of people will assume the the candy cart is an alternative to traditional favours.

Is the silver plating coming off or has it tarnished?

    HI

    Thanks all for your replies.

Have now gone with the seed idea so can still use pot and organza bag but instead have just bought some Sunflowers seeds from bay of e and seed envelopes. Will pop these in the pot instead now. Was an extra £8, considering seeds only cost us a few pounds, can't complain. Plus it means we can do the favours as soon as they arrive rather than leaving it to on Friday, as seedlings would have been in bags for days.

We didn't have any seeds left over but when looking at lavender seeds, they are extremely hard to grow and out of 1000 seeds only 100 may germinate.

Also got the MOH bracelet sorted. Apparently Silver needs to let the air get to it otherwise it tarnishes, took it back to shop to see what they could do and lady spoke straight away they re dip it there and then free of charge. It is because it had been in box.
You learn something new every day.

    Anyway panic over, lol.

Hopefully it will all go smoothly till Saturday.

    xxx

Great news about the frame and glad you went for the seeds idea. It really was lovely to plant them in our garden and be reminded of a special day every time we looked at them :)
