Morning Ladies!!

Have any of you's considered Eloping just the two of you??

Our family's are stressing us out so much we are seriously considering running away :-) But would you consider this selfish & it would possibly upset far to many people... would you keep it a secret & have a party after?

I would love to hear everyone's opinions on this x

i think my h2b would be happy to elope but i wouldnt feel like it was the same with out my family there

Ooohhhh no, I've always dreamed off a big white wedding, I think h2b would be very happy to elope as this is his second marriage but he knows how important it is to me.
My friend eloped and it was very special to her, just her, her partner and their best friends. There was a bit of upset in their family and a lot of their families didn't even turn up for the party they held afterwards but she says she wouldn't change a thing, it was what they wanted and that's all that matters in my eyes.

If that's what you want to do Hun, then go for it!

To be honest, I have always wanted the princess/castle wedding but as time has passed I have thought is it really what I want?? Maybes it's my insomnia makes me overthink or overthinking makes my insomnia, either way it isn't what I want deep down!

Nobody has really took an interest in our wedding apart from close friends, I also do remember my mam telling me to go to Gretna when we got engaged which upset me, I think she said this because she forked out for my sister's wedding only for that to end terribly (long story) embarrassing as it was a big family do (please note she was not paying a penny towards mine & if she offered I would have refused) and my sister would try & ruin my day I just know it. I just have alot of bad feeling towards it & It just all feels wrong!

Me & h2b like our little life with our dog & don't really involve ourselves with all the family so I know we would be happier going away & doing it on our own, I feel it would be more fitting for us. I have found a castle that does intimate 'just the two of you' weddings so I still get my castle & just my prince which I feel really happy about & so does h2b (he said he would marry me in a shed lol) so we are definitely 90% edging towards eloping!! x

I wanted to elope with just us and our witnesses, but h2b wanted a big wedding and thought I would regret it is we eloped, so we eventually decided on have a small wedding here with an afternoon reception and no evening do. Now my h2b keeps saying he would have liked to elope. Do whatever you both want to do. xx

I wanted to but my eldest son and my SIL2b would've been gutted. I saw a nice place in Devon where you could have up to four people at the wedding and then you can stay there for a minimoon.....£600! Instead we are forking out 8 and a half grand (including honeymoon I must add but still)!!!!!

We are looking at Scotland just abit further up then the Gretna! Yes a wedding & mini-moon sounds so good to us - sounds absolutely perfect right now :-)

Hehe yes...I remember asking Mike if we could please, please just elope for goodness' sake....

we were going to to go abroad with just the kids and get married, but then my aunt said she wanted to come. then word spread and friends wanted to come :)

i would've been content with eloping but we're still going to have a great day :)

I'm not opposed to eloping or a very small wedding but I would have always wanted parents, siblings and possibly grandparents there. And that's ready nearly 20 including us...

I know its hard, but try not to base your decision on whether it will hurt your family. At the end of the day the kind of wedding you have should be your choice and you don't want to regret choosing something your not happy with because you were being careful of others feelings. You could consider having a big party or meal with your families when you get back- if you did want to include them some way. xx

We have found our venue, i fell in love & they have confirmed the date is available just need to contact the minister & the photographer emailed back with the date available too!

I thought that was really good that you can get the full package with Gretna weddings, very tempting as I received a brochure today and they have a lot of venues to choose from & 6 are Castles! May have another look but I have fallen in love with a venue in Ayrshire x

i think it's great what you're doing. it's your wedding and you are allowed to make it special. i think it's romantic

jeezo i've just looked at their wedding for 2 £2012 deal!! no matter how beautiful it is, 2012 quid for a wedding for only 2 is a total rip off!!!!
