well it seems to be getting worse and we are going there in 9 weeks.what do we do.
CommentAuthormrs handforth
aww no why whats happened?? xx
CommentAuthorRhiannonollie
What area are you going to!? Speak with your holiday rep they should have all the information that you need. But remember a lot can happen in 9 weeks, it could get better.
If they say that it is too dangerous to travel you should look into your insurance see if they cover you for cancellations in these circumstances.
is soooo happy and lucky

It seems the protests are all centred around cairo.
i would be surprised if they fall into civil war or anything like that. And for protesting to last up to 9 weeks, well I doubt anyone would be able to maintain that - the protestors or the police.
Keep an eye on it for now, but don't worry too much as you dont need the stress just before your big day.

thanks lot will keep an eye on it as thomas cook are still not flying in to tunisa until the 27 feb as it is still really bad there.
Check out your insurance and upgrade it if need be.

We went to Egypt over Christmas and my parents are currently there for the next two weeks. I've just received a text from them to say that all ok in Sharm El Sheik and that although they will not be leaving the resort, so far the demonstrations haven't affected Sharm................................Fingers crossed your trip will be fine. If not and the tour company cancels because of danger, they will either offer you a different destination or your money back. x
Happy to be Mrs Holt, love my husband and love the memories

hope they sort it out for you hun x

Hey, make sure you get all your facts straight and insurance so that you get your money back if you cancel - Its not your fault that you may have to cancel so you shouldnt have to suffer!!
Having said that on the news this morning they are saying the president is standing down (not till september though) but this might ease some of the dificulties they are having.
A LOT can happen in 2 months and it would be a shame for you to cancel it now only to find out will be fine by the time you go.
But of course dont stress yourself out, maybe for a stress free time find somewhere else you both want to go and plan to go to egypt on your 1 year anniversary !!
is soooo happy and lucky

just copies from thomas cook website...
Demonstrations in Egypt
Following demonstrations in Cairo and other locations, the FCO have updated their advice - they are now advising against all but essential travel to Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor and Suez.
Sharm el Sheikh
The Red Sea Resorts including Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada are not affected by the demonstrations, and are a considerable distance from Cairo and are served by their own airports.
Our experienced teams on the ground assure us that no tourist areas at the Red Sea have been affected in any way by the recent demonstrations.
They are fully operational and holiday makers are continuing to enjoy these popular resorts.
Flights to Sharm el Sheikh continue to operate as normal
Luxor
Thomas Cook has cancelled its outbound flights to Luxor due to take place on Wednesday 2nd February from Birmingham, Gatwick and Manchester. Customers due to travel on these flights are being contacted and are able to amend their holiday to another destination or receive a full refund.
The return flights on 2nd February from Luxor to the UK will operate as planned.
We will continue to review the situation for travel to Luxor, the next planned departures are due to take place on Wednesday 9th February.

CommentAuthorKerrylou
Fingers crossed it'll work out alright for your honeymoon. If I were in your shoes I'd be tempted to see if your travel agent would allow you to switch destinations and then think about going to Egypt some other time - at least that way you don't have the worry as to whether or not you'll get there xxx
It's right what they say
"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D

thomas cook has said that we have to go our we will lose money.but now ireland has said not to go dont know what they will say they might just refund for me but not h2b as he is british and england is still saying it is safe.so dont what is going to happening.

where abouts are you going? cairo is where most of the demonstrations are so if you are going to sharm you will be fine but i understand why you are worried.
i am going to sharm 1st aug for my honeymoon and if the demonstrations are still ongoing in cairo i will still go as it is quite a way between the 2 places. xx
CommentAuthorUnknown
if it really wasnt safe where you are going in egypt they would be cancelling all flights all together. xx

FCO advice changes all the time. You still have a couple of months.
The UK is probably on a lot of danger lists in other countries!
