I'd like to have my dress dry cleaned. There are 2 dry cleaners near me. One quoted me £80 to dry clean it (which to be honest I can't afford) and there's a new tailors opened up, looks to be a family run business and it says in the window "Dry Cleaning £15 per item."

I havent called in to ask but do you think I'd be risking it to have it done there instead?

I enquired at the place we hired the suits, they quoted me £100-250 depending on detailing, but the bridal shop said they would do it for £60.

I think a phone call to them would be a good start.

When they say £15 per item they could be meaning just run of the mill dry cleaning items, jackets duvets etc. They might not work with wedding dresses (some companies prefer not to) and as they've only just opened there's no-one you could turn to for a review so that always holds an element of risk.

Double check their £15 policy then the rest is up to whether you feel comfortable or not

I would check Hun the last thing you want to do is ruin it. They will advise you if it needs more specialist cleaning x

I must admit, I'd be a bit nervous if they were only charging fifteen quid....but then, I know nix about dry cleaning.

Over here, I was quoted £250 to get my dress dry cleaned as it has a lot of beading on it. In Vegas, it cost $125 (about £78). I would be very wary about someone charging such a low price for it, to be honest. Wedding dresses are often made of fragile material and require very specialist cleaning, which is why they cost more than regular dresses. That being said, if you're willing to take the risk, then it's an extraordinary price!

I would ask how they are cleaning it. A lot of places will put a dress in an industrial size washer and you could do that yourself. Have you looked into washing the dress yourself? Plenty of dresses can be washed at home.

I enquired about having my dress cleaned and was told it would be approx £80 which in view of how much it is worth (rrp £1500) i didn't think was too bad. I am pretty sure the £15 per item is for standard items but even so i don't think i would trust anyone who charged me £15 to clean my dress, its not worth the risk! I am leaving deciding what to do with regards to cleaning/storing my dress until after Christmas (its not like its going anywhere lol) Its a bit grubby underneath and got no spills or stains so its not going to come to any harm by waiting. I know the run up to Christmas is an expensive time, why not wait until the new year too? xxx
