I'm finding driving instructions really difficult, as it depends where people are coming from. Do they have to be included in the invites? Is it rude to assume that in this day and age people will either look up the driving instructions or ask?
CommentAuthorCamilaL
I think a good option is to add the gps coordinates to the invite, as driving instructions.

We are putting the main address and definitely postcode (for satnavs) and say if there are any problems, please contact us prior to the big day, otherwise, I think most people will google it to check out the location. Tbh, in this day and age, as long as the postcode is on there, then most will just put it into their phones or satnavs and be done with it :)

So many people have sat navs or phones which they can get a sat nav app on, that I personally think like the others have said, the full address. Or you could just use a g00gle map zoomed in on that area maybe, people coming from different areas so you are not going to be able to include driving instructions for all of them. Just a few directions closer to the venue in a map if need be.

I think we gave the address and left it at that. People wouldn't expect you to include directions, they'll look it up online or use a satnav.

i know my family will ask where the church is and form a convoy as its on a hill in the lakes (middle of no where) and my oh family all know where it is anyway so im not bothering i know they will ask of need be and have just put full address on the invites
CommentAuthorDonnaH39
Yeah we included the full address and postcode, just know other people have included directions. Glad you all agree it isn't necessary as I think not only is it difficult trying to word directions but also too much in the invites can look messy.

I remember I tried it then just gave up but we provided directions from the church/town center to the reception venue.

We just put in a card with the address and postcode, if ppl don't already know where it is, they'll be organised enough to find out before setting off x

We included the address with postcode and a small map (which also showed the nearby hotels) and a list of nearby shops e.g. Chemists, card shops, places that sell tights etc. and restaurants for people staying over the night before, and local activities/places to see for people who were making a weekend of it. We just fit as much info as we could on an A4 sheet of paper and popped it in the invite

We are just putting the full address as we know most people know where it is and those who don't have satnavs. I don't really think you need to include directions in this day and age x

We just put address, I really don't think it's necessary to give full instructions and hand hold in this day and age, that is unless it's particularly tricky to find

Oooh yeah if you have a website I think it's a good idea to put maps/directions on there. That's a really good idea because it saves people having to G00gle it if they are unsure - they can just go straight to your website! Too much for the actual invitations though x
