Well I have looked at a drinks packages for the venue we are looking at and tbh it's not bad..
1 glass of chilled white wine on arrival
2 glasses of red or white with meal
1 glass of sparkling wine to toast...
All for £7.30pp so I would be spending £328.50, well all good but I can only see at least 15 people drinking the wine and some of them will be drunk of 2 glasses of wine lol. So I was thinking would it work at the same price if I did them one or two drinks at the bar for there meal and keep the sparkling wine for the toast? As I can see lots of wine going to waste and me been me I'll sit and drink more then I should (just so I can say it got drunk lol). What have others done for drinks options ??

Our package comes with drinks of Welcome drink, of our choice (after ceremony) but H2B and I get Champagne
Then 1/2 bottle of wine per head with the meal
    Glass of bubbly for toasts

    Practically the same as yours
My thinking is though, if they dont drink it, more for the people that do and also the evening guests may get some if there is that much left over!
Most of our families would drink the wine though

We did no drinks on arrival, we had a bottle of red and one bottle of white on each table, a glass for the toast and any extra they got themselves as that was expensive enough.

Think ours was 10 white at £16 each, 8 red at £16 each (we had two white on our table), and then 14 bottles at £18 each for the toast. We were left with just over half a bottle of bubbly which they gave to me and hubby to finish.

We are getting an arrival drink but can't remember what. Half a bottle of wine with the meal and fizzy wine to toast. It was all in the package, I've been to weddings where it was like that and the wine always gets drunk x x

We went to a wedding in the summer and their was no arrival drinks, one bottle each of white and rose per table their were 12 people sitting at our table and no fizz for the toast, Needless to say a drinks package became quite high on the list of things we want, Think off the top of my head it's about £10 per head for the basic thinking about going for the next package as you get a refil during the meal xx

we've not really had a drinks package. as its summer we're having a Pimms and lemonade welcome drink and orange juice and lemonade for the children and drivers which has worked out £15 for 8 jugs i think it is. And then we're allowed to take our own cava in for the toast so we only get charged a few pound corkage. we're having pink cava and strawberries. there getting there own drinks for the meal i think. depends how much money we have left over lol x

I think yours is good value and don't worry about people not drinking them, they'll definitely get drunk lol people who don't usually drink wine drink it at weddings and nobody would refuse a free drink would they lol

Wow, that's SO cheap! We're paying £36 a head for ours, which includes 2 glasses of buck's fizz, 1/2 bottle wine a head, and 1 glass of champagne for the toast.

Like you, we have some non-drinkers eg children, my MOH who doesn't drink wine, and MIL2B who's a recovering alcoholic. So we have allocated a budget for soft drinks for those not drinking wine. We are also asking our guests to tick a preference (red, white or rose; or non-alcoholic drinks) when they send their RSVP; and we're also thinking about offering a beer option (again, this would have to be confirmed in advance) for those who don't like wine, so they don't go without. That way, we have a good idea of numbers. We will then ask the venue to put enough for 1 glass per person on the tables initially, replenishing it when necessary; we're hoping this will avoid lots of half-empty bottles. Anything that doesn't get drunk we get to keep, and we will probably try to use this at the evening reception.

If you're concerned about people getting drunk, or not liking wine, speak to your venue and see if an alternative can be offered, and then ask your guests to select a preference, or, limit it to one glass with the meal.

I'd also think about offering a lighter drink for the welcome drink; we've gone with buck's fizz because it's quite weak, and people will be drinking on fairly empty stomachs, so wine/sparkling wine could go to people's heads quite quickly.

Thats really not bad! We got quoted £25.50 per head for the same!! Paying corkage and buying our own, came in at half the price. We are getting it on sale or return basis, so we can send back whats not drunk and get a refund (very unlikely knowing my guests!) x

We had a word with our venue because not everyone likes wine and some people will be driving. So we're paying for a package but they're only actually supplying a welcome drink and a toast drink. After that we're giving each guest 2 drinks tokens in their favour so they can go up to the bar and choose their own drinks. That way those that drink beer and can one and those that want something different can. we've kind of worked it out and it'll actually mean we'll be paying less than originally thought :) - but the savings will be put towards the evening buffet as more people than expected have rsvp'd with a def yes :) x

    That is really cheap.

We are having a glass of pimms, glass of wine or beer we are also having two reception drinks before we go into the reception room. 1/2 bottle of wine each, water and orange juice on the table. We have also go unlimited J2o until the end of the wedding breakfast.

All for £30 - im trying to get it down as we have got two drink packages.

We asked if the wine doesnt get dunk what they do with it and they said that they would put it on a table by where our buffet is going to be so anyone can help themselves.

Our bar isnt going to be open until after the starters because its in the same room and I dont want people going in while they are setting up otherwise they dont get the inpact when they first walk in.
