    Hello everyone,
Just wondered what everyone was doing for drinks on the table etc?
Were having 100 people so we was thinking:
    100 Buck's Fizz on arrival £2.25 each
2 bottle of wine per table (10 tables) £12.25 each
Then there's champagne/wine for the toast between £12/15 per bottle!

How many bottles do people recommend for the toast?

The drinks all together come at about 750/800 which I think is a lot? The venue corkage prices are 10 a bottle so it's cheaper to go with them. We was thinking maybe the two bottle on the table used for the toast as we're having a grand buffee rather than a sit down meal anyway!! What does everyone think?

We're having a drink on arrival and wine on the table and that's it. We're not having speeches and like you we're having a buffet instead of a full sit-down meal, so if we do change our mind re the speeches, everyone will already have a drink in front of them anyway to raise!

Also the last wedding I went to, the toast drinks were all left on the table because everyone took a sip for the toast and then went back to drinking the wine...!

Alternatively, you could always do the speeches before the buffet and people could use their welcome drink to toast?

In regards to pricing, the welcome drinks are just over £200 and wine on tables is coming in at around £500. Hope that helps!

We have gone with 3 drinks per person with canapes (becks in glasses and winter pimms), 1/2 bottle of wine each with meal plus a glass of champagne each for the toast. It is a drinks package which is £10.90 per head which I didn't think was bed for 6 drinks per head. Having 100 guests so totals £1090.

I think if you are having a buffet (and the bar is open throughout) then people will have a drink to hand for the toast so could cut cost there.

Sarah1865red and Helenw.... That sounds like a bargain. Or venue charges each separately, haven't asked if they do a drinks package, but for 80 we are looking at about £1200 for champagne reception, not much difference price per drink than a glass of wine or bucks. Half bottle per person on table, and a glass to toast. I haven't been to many weddings so am not sure what is the norm. If my tables are seating 8-10 people. I worry about only having a glass each as I feel it's stingy.... But I haven't been to many weddings to experience the norm.

    What is the norm?

We're having arrival drinks and a toast drink, 75 of each...
We're not doing wine on the table,we're paying for canapés while the photos are being taken instead to stop grumpy ppl moaning to each other about being starving, not everyone at ours likes wine so I didn't think it was fair providing it that on some tables only two ppl are drinking x

We have 52 day guests, 5 of whom don't drink. We're having 2 glasses of buck's fizz pp for the welcome drinks, and a non-alcoholic alternative for the non-drinkers, then a choice of 1/2 a bottle of wine pp or 2 pints of lager for the meal, plus a glass of champagne for the toast, plus water, and again, soft drinks for the non-drinkers. Ours comes in at £1800.

I'd say to allow 1-2 welcome drinks, depending on how long your drinks reception is, then 1/3-1/2 a bottle of wine pp for the meal, plus the champagne to toast (1 bottle should get you 6 glasses as a guide).

To save money, consider non-alcoholic welcome drinks, and consider sparkling wine instead of champagne. You could also limit the amount of wine you provide, and provide soft drinks instead, provided there's a bar and people can buy their own.

We are having bucks fizz on arrival, half a bottle per person with the meal and prosecco to toast...its coming £800 for fifty people. There will also be a bar open throughout so I think they're amply provided for - I don't want people getting drunk before the evening reception lol! Xxx

We're having bucks fizz/summer punch after the ceremony, 1/2 bottle of wine per person with the meal, then sparkling wine for the toasts. Though I've also been to weddings where there were lots of toast drinks left. I'm tempted to ask to change the toast drinks to something else, but not sure what.
