hey ladies, I was going to get a dress of the internet from China, tailor made, and after reading a thread on here about imports I am now having second thoughts. I love the dress and its only just over £100! Got 99.9% positive feedback aswell. But i would hate to pay for it and it doesnt come or comes ruined. Do I pay an arm and a leg for a 'british' gown or pay cheap for my chinese dream dress?? help geri x x

i think that if you have read the reviews and they are 99.9% i think you should order from them. personally i think that is enough positive feedback

thanx guys its beautiful and I have looked around for the same dress in different places with no luck. If I change the dress I would be gutted. Normally I would just order but some people were saying that although its 100% pos feedbk it can still be bad. Will probs get it :) x x
i brought one from abroad and cried when it came (and not god tears) lol
so i went out and brought a grand dress!! ekkkk so so now over budget!! haha xx

Check out the ones that have had good reviews on the dress thread, that way you KNOW what you're getting. A lot of places give you 50% refund if you give them good feedback, so a lot of brides have "saved the situation" by giving a good review even though the dress was really bad. So I don't trust the reviews they put up themselves, which is why I started the review thread. I swear, I looked at one page, and all the reviews were fake. They had people supposedly from England and America who had bought dresses off them, but the english in the reviews was atrocious, every single one, so I doubt they were real. Good luck shopping! xx

i have a friend who bought one from ebay (china) and she said it made her look pregnant and she ended up having to spend 850 from one in a shop, i was originally going to get mine from ebay but not now, my OH has said he refuses to buy me a budget one and thats our only splurge. completely up 2 u hun, i would do a search for wedding dresses elsewhere and dont forget 2 check ur local newspapers as some advertise sample sales at hotels or shops in ur area, good luck x

I thought about it because I did get a beautifully made ball gown from a Hong Kong company through the bay of e. Cheap as chips and really well made. I had to have it altered because I put on a bit of weight and the tailoress who did the alterations said she'd never altered such a well made dress. She said it had enough material to be taken out almost 2 sized but beautifully concealed.
The only reason I'm not going through a similar site is because that was a one off for a ball that I didn't really want to go to, this is the most important day of my life and I don't want the stress of worrying that it will turn out ok.
It's a tough decision and I wouldn't know what to suggest for you, go with your gut instinct. x

I think they're worth the risk for the low prices. I have every intention to buy china, if worst comes to worst I'm sure i could pay to get it altered/fixed instead of chucking it out. But we'll see...

I've ordered mine from a chinese copy site (the one who must not be named) This lady will make a copy of this dress for you and I havent seen a single bad review. Mine cost £185, in the shop it was £1300 and thats almost as much as we are speding on the entire wedding so not in our budget at all. I am a little nervous about it but I've read so many reviews on her fb page that kinda settles my mind. And you are right, actual desinger wedding dresses are still made in china - probably at the factory next door! lol. I wouldnt worry, I would just go for it. If you want to check out the lady I'm using, I'll post the link on your wall but you may already know her as she is very popular xxxxxxxx
