I'm just wondering who everyone is taking to go dress shopping? Ideally I would like just my mum and chief bridesmaid but I feel like I should invite my partners mum to come and then there's my other 2 bridesmaids.

I just took my mum because my bridesmaid hates shopping. My dress fitting in tuesday i will have to take my children because i have no babysitter. Id go with a friend or your mum and when you have found the one take people to see it. Xx

Never feel obliged to take anyone. Take who you want there and whoever you trust to give honest opinions on the dresses you try on and then who will keep the dress a secret because most brides want the big reveal when they walk down the aisle and everyone sees her for the first time.
It's a very special moment choosing the dress so personally you should have the ladies who are absolutely closest to you there.
I had my mum, sister (MOH) and best mate (bridesmaid).

Aw thankyou. Yes definately I agree I don't want it to be where I take absolutely everybody because I want them to see it on the day. Plus I would like that to be something I just do with my mum. Thanks again

I wanted to take my mom, MOH and my 2 daughters (who are also my bridesmaids)
Unfortunately my mom isn't too well and wouldn't be able to last a whole day in a boutique.
Also my BM's and MOH all live in different parts of the country and so getting everyone together is proving to be a bit of a nightmare.
So I am gong with my 2 daughters first off, to try on a few different styles, then will go with my MOH, and then when I have a good idea of what I want, I will take my mother with me.
If he would come, then I would ask my other half - as I really value his opinion, but he has said he doesn't want to see me in my dress before the big day
Looking forward to becoming the 3rd and last Mrs McLauchlan
I only took my mum with me to all my appointments as I wanted it to be a complete surprise for everyone else. I did contemplate inviting my MIL to one of my appointments but decided against it as I didn't trust her to keep quiet about my dress, I also felt if I invited her then I should invite my step mum too. So I just left it as my mum :-)

I took my mum and my sister (she was also my moh). My mil wanted to come to a fitting but I didn't want her there, I just tended to make the appoiments at times when I know she couldn't make it :/ lol. Just take who you want don't worry anout other people. Xx

I will be taking my mum, my nan (who has kindly offered to pay) and my MOH. Me and my mum have already been to get an idea of what shape and styles I like but more importantly to get us singing off the same hymn sheet as my nan is very opinionated :)

Take who you want to the wedding dress shopping. Some people like it to be a big event so will take BMs, MOH, MOB, MIL, auntie, best friend. Other people like it to be a special moment between mother and daughter.
I took just my mum, if I didn't want it to be a surprise I would have taken my OH, I really trust his opinion when it comes to clothes. No-one saw my dress except my mum, dressmaker and anyone on here.
NicoleW665 - I think its really lovely that you take your dad x

He probably wouldn't be able to go into the dressing room area if there are other brides in there, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind you going out to show him in the waiting area.

usually the shops have seperate dressing areas for each bride, or just have slots for 1 bride to be in for each session, so i wouldnt worry about your dad making others feel uncomfortable. the staff are use to men going there with the brides! i think thats a lovely idea :) x

I was going to take my mum and my partners mum, especially as she has no daughter of her own and I've been part of the family for 13 years already! Decided to scope out a few places on my own with just my mum as H2B mum works full time and had no annual leave booked, whilst at the time I was off work due to surgery. Ended up finding the dress before his mum could come. She was clearly gutted but I arranged to take her and my dad to pay the deposit and tried it on then. There were tears it was all good!
I went dress shopping with my best friend for her wedding dress, I was brutally honest and she respected that, she knew what suited her and what didn't. In the end she picked a dress when she went with her mum, but wouldn't buy it without my approval. So it all depends a) who you want to share that moment with, b) do you want honesty or someone to tell you it's lovely when it really isnt
