Hi all, as it says really, we went for a fitting a couple of weeks ago and one bridesmaid didn't fit into her dress, we could do it up, just! And it took three people to do it! So bm came to mine yesterday and the dress still doesn't fit! The zip is a little easier to go up but you can tell its very tight and she keeps pulling it up and thats making it worse as the 'band' under the bust keeps wrinkling, and she needs to pull it down to make it look right, she insisted she would make it fit for the day but im really not sure, ive no time for new dresses or the funds... When we bought the dresses they all fitted perfect, shortly after this bm broke up with her bf and I suppose she just comfort ate :/ I feel really annoyed with her but sorry for her at the same time...

I guess all I can do is pray!

Fingers crossed she'll be really motivated to stick to a good diet and do some toning over these next few weeks, at least she can get the zip up easier from last time, it's shown she has done some work.

I've spoken to the lady doing the alterations and she's got one the girls dresses at the minute and she's had a good look, there's no spare material at the sides but the girls have clip on bows to go at the bottom of the corset, she's gonna shorten one of them and use that material to put a little panel in the back of the dress... I don't think bridesmaid is too happy but it's for her own benefit x

It's possible to drop a dress size in two weeks, but only with a lot of discipline. Maybe something like Slim Fast would do as a last resort.

Sounds silly and maybe not the most flattering of underwear but has she tried the dress on with some slimming pants/tops? May just give your bridesmaid the silhouette she is after and make the dress look more flattering?

With the motivation of needing to get in the dress she can probably do it, but it's certainly better to have a plan B. One of my bridesmaids is pregnant, due end of May, and she's confident she'll lose the baby weight by the end of August as she lost it quickly last time, but I asked the shop to get a size higher to be on the safe side.

one of the bridesmaids at my friends wedding couldnt fit into her dress either, they added a panel to it and made it a lace up dress instead, that would the only option i think if she cant lose enough inches in time x

Fair enough, was just an idea, sounds like a panel is the best option then hun.

Those sp@nx magic knickers apparently take you down a dress size, could she try them? Less hassle than altering the dress.
