After 12 yrs of being together and 2 children, my OH popped the question Xmas 2012! We have now set the date for April 2014. In April I went dress shopping with my mum, 2 sisters and niece and after only trying on 5 dresses I found it!!! As soon as I put it on and showed my family, I fell in love! I turned bright red and felt amazing!!! I ordered it and paid the deposit. However that evening I felt quite deflated as I'd picked it so quick. It was the first chance I had of getting all us girlies together and also the shop told me that the 20% off would finish on that dress that week. Under all that pressure, it has got me doubting the dress. The website doesn't even advertise the dress and so I can't even look at it online. Please can someone help me as I don't want to feel disappointed on the day that I have rushed into picking the most important dress of my life. I don't have much self confidence and when I look at pictures of myself in it I am unsure (bearing in mind it was three sizes too big and was pinned in it!). In case you've heard of it, it's the Marcy dress by Tom Flowers at Berketex Bride.

Hi Kristina, I have posted a link to your page from the book of face of which one I think is advertised as "Marcy". Hope that helps!! Beautiful gown!

Thanks Susie. I think I'm going to go back to Berketex and try it on again - see if that puts my mind at rest. Do you think I should still look at other dresses or not???

Such a gorgeous dress!!!.. u picked a good one!!

it doesnt matter how many you try on, more the feel you get in the dress. some girls on here have tried on over 100 dresses and still cant find the one. I also felt a bit deflated after choosing my dress because i wanted to try ALL of them on in everyshop and go on forever! lol..

same as above i would suggest that you back to the shop, with a friend or alone and try it on again to see if u still feel the same about it

    Good luck :)

I tried on about 50 before I found THE ONE. I bought it there and then. I still have doubts, then I look at the picture of me in the dress and I relax again! It is perfectly normal to feel that OMG what if Ive chosen the wrong one. But to be honest Kristina, if you felt "this is the one,"excited feeling when it was on you, you will carry that feeling with you on your day. I think it would be good if you could get another appointment with them, try it on, and since you have paid for it they should be good about letting you get a photograph in it, tell them you are feeling panicky and just need the photo reminder!!

I was in exactly the same boat as you, found the one was gawgus, was told was 10% for the next 2 weeks so felt pressure and ordered it, then after felt like what if its not it seeming as its so early, found a pic online and made me doubt it more aswell like for was about 2/3 sizes to big and was pinned in, but the my mum showed me the pic she took and love it, it looks better on me 2 sizes to big etc than it does on the model , got the pic in my ipod so whenever i feel like that can look at it and realise how awesome it is!

I was like you. Only ended up going to one shop as found it in that one. Few months down the line really started to doubt it especially as I felt I'd missed out on the dress shopping thing. I went to try the dress on again and fell in live with it all over again. Had a dress fitting yesterday and love it even more.

Go back and try it on again I'm sure you will love it once again xx

I only tried on ONE dress, the one I am getting married in. As soon as I put it on I felt like a princess, I knew I would drive myself crazy trying on dresses and would ultimately come back to that one anyway so I paid the deposit there and then. Each time I look at the picture of it I get butterflies in my tummy.

If it's "the one" you just know because you walk away and then feel you need to go back to order it. Sounds like you really did love it from the way you describe how you were when you tried it on and therefore you'll most likely love it all over again when you see it.

Generally though, B'tex and some other shops are very naughty, telling brides their "promotional" discount is ending that week when in reality they always have some "offer" on which varies from a % off, a free BM dress or half price BM dress if you order the wedding dress there and then to free accessories again if you order there and then. These offers constantly come around on a rotation basis I have noticed but the sales assistants are great at putting on the pressure so you feel you have to order straight away. They did it to my sister a few years ago when of course none of us had experienced wedding dress shopping before so had no idea of this issue. However, when it came to me, I didn't fall for any of these tricks and managed to still get an amazing deal on all my BM dresses, my wedding dress etc.

Ladies - if you don't have your dress yet, do not feel pressured into ordering straight away, shop around, walk away, go for a coffee/lunch and if you can't stop thinking about it, then go back and place the order. At least with my sister we did walk away, gave it a few days and couldn't stop thinking about it and just went back to the shop to place the order so it was "the one".

The dress is lovely, I would stop worrying if you thought it was the one, as the other girls said, its unlikely to change. Just don't look at other dresses x

I did exactly the same as you. I loved my Ali dress when I ordered it but then started to panic as id only been in 2 shops and tried on about 8 dresses all in similar styles. I ordered my dress in December as the store was having a 30% day. By the time march came round I was so worried that I didn't like it any more. Am getting married in 2 weeks and now my dress is fitted and at home I have fallen I love with it all over again and can't wait to wear it!!

Go back to the shop and try it again yo put your mind at rest, it will remind you of why you chose it in the first place xx

I have done the same thing hun because I picked my dress and completely fell in love with it then took my mum to see it and she didn't like it so she ended up choosing this horrid big poofy Katie Price style dress for me!! I felt so upset and downhearted and I hated the big dress so I took my mum back to the shop and tried on my other dress again and she said she actually liked it that time as it was closer to my size (the time before it had been about 4 sizes too big).

So I finally got the dress I wanted. But since then I have had moments where I think 'Oh god....is that really the right one??' but I think you just have to remember the way it made you feel when you first put it on :) xxxxxx

my dress was the first one i tried on and fell in love instantly. i tried on another 10 or so dresses in the shop but it was definitely still the one. so i arranged a second appointment to show mom and step mom and then ordered it the next week. to be honest i was having second thoughts as i couldnt remember it and what it looked like. the dress took 7 months to arrive and it was a nightmare waiting. when i tried it on few weeks ago it was perfect and i had no reason to have second thoughts. i have since took lots of photos to keep me reminded of the dress as it will be february by the time i try it on again. its great looking back at the pics cus it gets me all excited again.

if you are unsure then go and try it on again but if you felt that it was perfect when you ordered it then im sure you will still feel the same xx
