Ok all, here is what we managed to get out of the hotel: upgraded honeymoon suite, rooms for both sets of parents for the wedding night, upgrade on the toasting drink, my recovered expenses for the stationary I have made, and then 6 tickets to a corporate meal and evening event at the local football club (H2B's team) the total of all comes to more than 10% of what we are paying so we're happy with that. Really relieved its sorted now. What a nightmare this week has been. Better step on that diet now as I have 1 month less to get into my dress now!!

Yay it looks like getting double booked was the best thing that could happen to you after all that you have. Lets hope its the only blunder that they make.

Oh my word guys you will never believe this and i swear to you I'm not joking or lying. But we had a call from the General manger this morning and they have double booked it again. our new date 11th June is also a double booking so we have to move again!! Not even upset this time just really really angry. What a nightmare. We now have another meeting with the General Manager again at 9 in the morning. Will keep you posted.

OMG i would tell them that you want a a discount because of all the faffing about they are doing once is understandable but twice???? are they f***ing joking???? Hunni if you still want your wedding there (sorry but i would go elsewhere they obviously cant handle bookings let alone weddings) then i would have serious words with them about what compensation they are going to give you. Drinks free, something half price, money off the venue but make sure you get SOMETHING!

Na it was nice of them to come up with that compensation package, but honestly who have they got working for them..untrained monkeys can see that theres something in that box so wont add that there!

nah ditch them! They cant get a date right let alone a wedding. Demand your deposit back, money for the stationary, phone charges for changing the dates. Demand they phone your church and photographer to find you another date coz ur defo not. Say your going to go to the local news paper and rip their reputation to shreds as a wedding venue and you can pretty much ensure noones going to want to marry there after your done with them. Basically threaten them with everything and get your money back. Go somewhere who know how to check a diary x

Oh dear Erica I hope she gets somewhere. At least we can be grateful that we still have a few months to go.
Anyway the update of the saga is that when we went on saturday he said they have worked out what has happened and it was a computer error (he showed the software not working) any way we got a free room the night before the wedding for the groom and his party, and then we also got all the upgrades to the menu we asked for etc and we ahd his promise and he is writing it into the contract that he will not move our date again, and even if it does come to light (which they are sure it wont because they have checked the software every way they can and its free) they will not move our wedding again. Which makes us a lot happy.
We did leave him panicking a bit though because he said that for whatever reason it only seems to have happened to us, and Chris (who is a software developer) told him that such a major problem indicates that it is probably not just us and that they may find it has happened to some other people too. Apparently this software is used by all the major hotels and catering industry so there could be a few problems unless it has for whatever reason just happened at his hotel.
Anyway, the upshot being we now have a confirmed date and the manager is going to have one hell of a week trying to sort all this out.

ohhh sound like ur not having much luck hun id go and cause a riot at the hotel if it happened agen the left hand dont know what the right hand is doing in that place with the sounds of things i had 2 rearrange my date 2 a week earlier it right p****ed me off but were sorted now thank god
