Ladies has any ever or planning to apply for the new series. I just had a look and it just says to email them but what on earth would you write just how much you love your other half orrr..... I havee no idea all help much appreciated

I applied a couple of years ago. All I did was say I was interested. Then they sent me an application form to fill in. Then I think its interviews and screen test etc.

I looked recently and they said they weren't going to do another series, they must of changed they're mind. Think you will just have to say that you are interested and give some basic details about your relationship. Good luck with the application. Claire xx

I applied last year and we got quite far into the casting process - but didn't make the final cut.
Just send an e-mail and there will be an automated message reply with an application form. This obviously you have to fill in and pics are also required. If they are interested they'll ring your h2b.

At first I was really upset when they rejected us so far in the pricess but in hindsight I am so grateful and glad they dudn't take us. H2b would have done a good job but I wouldn't have wanted to miss out on all the blood and sweat I am now putting into all the personal touches. H2b could have only bought everything in 3 weeks - everything would have been a ready made package deal and that's just not us. I am really really glad it turned out the way it did.

As nice as it would be to have £12k given to you to plan a wedding and I trust h2b would do a good job the thing that would put me off would be the constant having to re-take everything and having a camera in my face at the most romantic moment of my life. I have heard of someone who was filmed on DTTB and they had to repeat their vows for the camera and she had to throw her bouquet like 4 times. I watch it religeously because I can't believe how many stupid men and bossy women there are. It's all become a bit of a farce as the women describe their dream dress and then the bloke gets something completely different. As if!! If I was on it, I'd be taking h2b round all the shops showing him exactly what I wanted and making sure he could spot it in the shop and if he didn't get it for the big day he'd be in for the telling off of a lifetime.

Do love the show though, but it just makes you think it must be set up - one minute she's there going Oh wow I love church weddings, cut to bloke saying Screw the church, let's have it in an old dingey pub, that'll work...!

I can only tell you about the casting process - I think our downfall was that h2b is too savvy (he does budgeting for living) and I'm not bridezilla enough (or wasn't at least :-)). We had too similar ideas but I actually didn't know that - ofc I waffle on about what I like. You have to tell them an exact plan down to detail (so this spontanous gathering of thoughts of the men is just for show) - including down to every little sequin how you imagine it. And it turned out that h2b described exactly the same dress as I bought myself. Well maybe not exactly but a tea length one with polka dots and colour on it - which is pretty much what I have.

The show has certainly deviated from the 1st series - in my opinion anyway.
H2b knew a bridesmaid from the first series and she said from her point of view it seemed really good although the whole budgetting part of the show was quite a focal point. Her show the groom ran out of money and they had to buy their own dresses etc which she found out last minute.
I really enjoyed the old format of you seeing the groom go through the process of making sure he had all the correct necessities - rings, flowers, dress, shoes etc and having to figure out what to sacrifice etc to get what he wanted.
Recently I have felt its all a big facade - there is no way a budget is stuck to, far too much dramas and interference from every Tom, D and Harry! Also a tiny bugbear from the last series was that many of the couples seemed to be quite young and new couples and yes they were fun etc but I think the contestants picking has got a bit "streamlined".
I definitely watch it for different reasons now and when it first started h2b was very up for it but now i just know it would be edited in a way that would be awful for all the family and ourselves.

My H2B would never go for that as he hates the lime light and stress, but seeing as im a wedding planner anyway I would hide my folder and tell him he MUST do everything in there with venues etc just the way that it is and he must make out he is actually searching! That would be so cool! Plus he wouldnt have to worry about the dress as I already have it and he wouldnt have to worry about the rings except to pay for the last 2 instalments and the invitations have been made already!

im afraid they tend to want the wackier the better so if .ou have anything a little bit different or opposing views (i.e. something that makes good tv) make sure you note that down. Talk about how different your views are but obviously make this up!

This is how it was for us:
H2b actually suggested to apply. So we did. I decided to fill in the application form from both point of views - so to each question we each gave an answer. We kept it wordy but not too long so they don't get bored reading. I think we kept it funny and light and fluffy and I hoped we make them laugh. I attached a few pics of us together and of us separately and one of our boy - again I chose pretty pics but also funny pics to make them laugh.
I sent it off and within an hour a producer rang h2b telling him they are interested and want to talk to him. They told him he can tell me that they rang but no details. H2b stuck painstakingly to this command :D. I think the next day again someone rang h2b and chatted for about an hour or so with him. He told him he has to come up with a detailed plan of how he imagines the day within the next few hours. Again he was not allowed to tell me this. H2b then got a few hours to write everything down (he had to really think up every little detail - theme, colours, what kind of dress, cars etc etc. etc) and he then talked to the producer for over two hours - though h2b is a chatterbox I might add. The next day someone rung me to tell me they will ring me for a longer chat in the afternoon. But I got told it won't be such a detailed long call like with h2b they just want to get to know me a bit better. It was always the same producer we talked too by the way. He rang me then again the next day I think and took me by surprise and asked me aswell how I have planned everything in detail - and I think I was far to little bridezilla because he caught me by surprise. I did have lots of details to tell but I babble silly when I get nervous and I forgot so much to tell him, I had nothing written down.
At the end of both our long talks the producer told h2b and me that he really likes us and would like to put us forward and he wishes us all the best. They decision makers will have a big meeting the following friday and will have layed out copies of the interviews and photos etc and then make the final decision - if they ring again we're on the show and if we don't hear from them within 3 weeks we're not.
Well we never heard again and at first I felt a weird stab of pain of rejection but in hindsight I am very happy that they didn't take us.

hi i applied for dont tell the bride last year and a couple weeks ago my partner got a call the following day i recieved a call just asking how youd imagine your day and howd u react if he got it wrong they then rang his best man and now want us to go for a test screen at newcastle on the 26th of feb eeek im scared i dont know what happens from then does anyone/???

i think if we were to do that (which neither of us would survive not seeing eachother for 3 weeks and i mean seriously we wouldnt survive.... h2b would run out of underwear and i would be in so much pain with no one to help with me or the kids and i wouldnt be able to sleep without him) i would make sure that he knew exactly what i wanted... i would leave a folder with him telling him who to call what to book etc etc and he would have to only look at it when the film crew are not there lol as the way that our wedding is planned is it is very much "us" i dont want a bbq but he does but we oth want a sit down meal so we are having the venue package which is ceremony, meal, evening buffet, a drink each etc and then a little later (days or weeks) we will have a bbq for everyone who couldnt attend due to other commitments or lack of guest spacing. he wants a live band i want a dj so we are having a band but one from the college i went to. we both want the same cake from the same cake maker, i have my dress and he knows it means everything to me and wouldnt want to change it for the world as i cried telling him i couldnt have it cos we couldnt afford it so he said we will get by just buy it so i did he designed our rings and they are already paid for so he wouldnt change them cos he designed them. i made the invites and he helped design them with me.
thinking on it now... much as he doesnt like talking about weddings he has played a huge part in ours... im very lucky..... but i would sort the budget out for him and he would just have to make it look like hes thinking of stuffs and pricing etc but i would just do it lol there would still be tears cos id be missing him something stupid!

I've never applied for the show, but I think in the application you have to sort of tell them what they want to hear. I suppose Id try and show them how we are different from other couples. I agree that the show has changed and I do think they prefer a bit of drama now. X

I applied for the show, they advertise that they need couples, you use an email address and when you email it you get an application form sent back to you(as an email). The application form is about you as a couple, what you do, your ages, the proposal, photos of you and what wedding plans you've already done/why you haven't been able to plan anything. They have already finished taking applicants for 2014's season so you would need to wait till next year.

My friend Tony and Pippa appeared on season 2, they said there were so many stages you had to go through before you are actually accepted that even though they were it was so much hassle.x
